Traders are a big part of7 Days To Die.Not only do they sell things and buy things from the player, but they also hand out missions. These missions offer players the ability to explore andloot various points of interestand gain extra XP and rewards along the way.
For those who are new to the game, finding all the traders on such a large map can seem like a daunting task. However, it is very straightforward. Whether the player is on a pre-built world or a custom gen map, they can find the traders fairly quickly. Here’s how to track them down in7 Days To Die.
How To Locate All The Traders
If you are playing on Navezgane, then the traders will be found in the same places. If you are on a randomly generated map, then trader locations will be randomized. That said, there is typically at leastone trader in each biome.
Exploration Versus Missions
For those playing on a PC, it is possible to cheat a little bit and use console commands to find traders. However, not all players want to use console commands while playing. There are two ways that players can find all the traders. The first way is bytraveling along main roads.Eventually, you’ll come across a trader. However, this method isn’t particularly efficient.
The best way of finding traders is by completing missions.On day one, work toward completing the Trader Quest challenge. Open up your challenges menu and toggle the quest so it’s active. For this quest, you will need to do a few basic things like crafting, harvesting, and using certain items. Completing each of these challenges will award you with some XP.Once you’ve completed all the challenges, you’ll be giventhe location of a trader to visit. If you are new and don’t know the map’s layout, this is the most efficient way of finding the first trader.
Trader Missions
When you speak to the trader, you’ll be able to activatemissions. You can choose a mission that best suits your playstyle. There are fetch missions, clear missions, buried treasure missions, and some other more difficult missions. Once you’ve earned enough mission points, you’ll be able to do a special mission with the trader that will involve you making your way over to the next trader. You can see how many tier points you have by looking in the quest menu.
The points you earn will depend on the missions you do, and each tier gives the same number of points. So, a one-tier mission will award you with one point, a two-tier mission will award you with two points, and so on.
To unlock the mission to find the second trader, you’ll need10 tier points.You will then need 20 for the next trader, and an additional 10 points for each trader after that. The trader unlock order is normally:
While it doesn’t matter which trader you do missions for,you’ll only be able to activate a special mission to visit the next trader from the most recent trader you unlocked.For example, if you have unlocked trader Jen, then only Jen can give you the special mission to unlock the next trader, which would be trader Bob.
Each trader has their own specialty fields that they work in. This means that theirloot is geared toward certain aspects of the game, like farming, medicine, vehicles, and weaponry.
Food and Seeds
This angry trader is hostile, unwelcoming, and overall an unpleasant person. However, there’s something strangely compelling about this man. Things may be different in random gen or custom gen worlds, but in pre-built worlds, traderRekt can be found in the forest region.
Like with all traders, he will have a nice selection of random goods. Buthisspecialty is Foodand Seeds.Since vending machines can be found throughout the map and inside each trader’s settlement, his food selection is somewhat obsolete. However, for those who enjoy farming, this trader can be very handy.
Trader Jen
Medicine
Trader Jen is normally located in theburnt forest.She’s a friendly and welcoming person who is eager to engage with you.Her specialty is medicine,and she will sell most types of meds and pain relief items.
This is incredibly useful during the early days, when things like bandages and antibiotics are scarce. She is also more likely to have medical magazines than the other traders. She’s the best trader for players who are looking to stock up on meds before horde night.
Trader Bob
Vehicles & Tools
Bob resides in the desert, and is the go-to trader forvehicles and tools.He may not be all that useful in the early game, since most tools and vehicle components are too costly for low-level players. However, for those who make it through the first few weeks, Bob becomes a very useful trader.
Crafting vehicles makes traveling around the map much easier. Each vehicle also has additional storage space which allows players toloot more while exploring various POIs.
Trader Hugh
Weapons & Ammo
Trader Hugh is thesnow biome trader, and specializes in all things weaponry.From magazines to guns, if it’s weapons you want, then Hugh’s the one to visit. Like Bob, Hugh’s stock isn’t cheap. Weapons and ammo are very valuable, and thereforesell for quite a lot of Dukes.
While there’s no harm in browsing his inventory, players who want to buy guns should start saving their Dukes early on. That said, by the time most players reach Hugh, they will already have come across a handful of decent firearms.
Trader Joel
Armor Pieces
If you are following the trader progression path via the game’s missions, Joel will be the last trader you will unlock. He’s based in thewasteland,a hostile biome that you should only visit when you are able to take down some of the game’s toughest enemies.
If you can dodge the landmines and make it inside trader Joel’s compound, you’ll be able tobrowse through his extensive selection of armor pieces.He is a great late-game trader for those who are looking to complete certain armor sets.
How To Improve Trader Inventory Quality
While each trader specializes in certain items, thequality of the items they have for sale is tied to the player’s perks, level, and abilities.Selecting the right perks can help you to not onlysurvive the zombie apocalypse, but thrive.
Daring Adventureris a perk that will increase the overall quality of the items being sold by the traders. Not only that, but this perk will also increase the quality of rewards you get for completing trader missions. This is a great perk to invest in early on, as it will enable you to obtain higher level items early on in your play through.
If you want to save Dukes when buying items and earn more Dukes for selling, then there are lots of consumables that will give you a short-term buff, likeGrandpa’s Awesome Sauce. Additionally, each point you put intothe Better Barter perkwill increase the amount of Dukes that you’ll get for selling items while reducing the cost of buying items from traders.
