Unfortunately, there are a few hurdles when it comes to collecting Mechanical Parts. While it may be one of thebest materials to get early in7 Days To Die,it’s not necessarily the easiest to get. Here’s where and how you can get Mechanical Parts.
How To Get Mechanical Parts in 7 Days To Die
The most reliable way to get Mechanical Parts is to dismantle objects like refrigerators, air conditioners, radiators, and cars using a Disassemble Tool. The earliest type of these tools you can get is the Wrench, which you can craft once you read a Scrapping 4 Fun magazine. There are quite a few ways toget magazines in7 Days To Die,but your best option in the early game is to do trader quests.
Once you have a Wrench, go to any mechanical object and use your Secondary Action button (RMB/LT/L2) to start disassembling. Your character will turn their Wrench a few times and every time they do, you’ll get some Mechanical Parts and other resources. The bigger the object you’re dismantling, the more resources you’ll get, and the longer the disassembly process will take.
To maximize the loot you earn from disassembling objects, invest points in the Salvage Operations perk under Perception. Each point increases your disassembly speed and the quantity of resources you gain for each disassembled object. It’s not exactly one ofthe best perks in7 Days To Die, but if you’re having trouble getting Mechanical Parts or tools, consider investing at least one point here.

If you’re having trouble finding magazines or wrenches, you can try doing the following:
Hitting hardware stores and Working Stiffs crates is your best bet at getting Mechanical Parts without using a Wrench. Working Stiffs boxes are especially good for early game loot as they may contain the magazines you need for making Disassembly Tools. Apart from hardware stores, you can also find these in gas stations, supermarkets, and any of the loot rooms in random houses and POIs.
