Once Human Brewing Barrel Recipes
Brewing Barrels inOnce Humanare especially made for making certain food, drinks, and other forms of liquid that you can’t whip up from any of the conventionalStoves. Instead of picking recipes from a menu, you craft items with Brewing Barrels by placing ingredients inside the barrels themselves. All the known Brewing Barrel recipes in the game that we know so far are:
Used for crafting Gunpowder and materials like Tungsten Bars.
Beer made with corn. Restores 100 Hydration and 1000 Sanity.
Beer made with wheat. Restores 100 Hydration and Sanity.
Brewing Barrel recipes use a 2:1 input-output ratio on ingredients.
While not necessarily mandatory, beer made from corn and wheat make for great Hydration items. You can get even more value out of beer by using Deviated ingredients, which you can find in the wild or grow yourself. Crops have a chance of becoming Deviated if youuse Fertilizer with Mutation Boost, or if you have aBuzzy Bee tending to your plants.
Regular ale will keep your sanity from dropping for 30 minutes. Meanwhile,Deviated versions provide the Quick Reflexes buff, which increases your character’s action speed by 20%. This only affects the speed at which you interact with things like using items or gathering materials. It does not make you move, shoot, or reload faster.
Out of all these recipes, the one for Acidis likely to be the most important one for many players.Getting Acid is a tedious process inOnce Human— this resource is commonly dropped by Deviations like the Gnawers found in almost every POI, but considering how much Acid is used when crafting ammo, ingots, and other items, farming enemies becomes a chore.
Brewing Barrels inOnce Humanrequire power to function. Consider upgrading your base’s power grid to allow multiple generators, or use a Switch to divert power from other crafting stations into your Brewing Barrels.
Should You Make Corn Ale or Malt Ale?
Despite appearances, both of these types of ale are functionally the same. They both do the same thing, which is prevent you from losing Sanity while exploring or fighting Deviants. Even the Stardust variants of these consumables are the same. The only real determining factor on which one you should make in yourOnce HumanBrewing Barrels is ingredient availability. Feel free to make either one of these based on the ingredients you have in stock.
