Laurel BudsToward the end ofBlack Myth: Wukong’s first chapter, players are introduced to Shen Monkey and several methods of improving the healing drink. One of these methods is adding “Soaks” to the mixture, which will apply extra effects to whatever drink is currently in the Destined One’s gourd. In Chapter 1, it is possible to find three such soaks.

In Chapter 2 ofBlack Myth: Wukongwe visit the Yellow Wind Ridge, where the second of the “Senses of the Great Sage” can be found. As we explore Yellow Wind Ridge we can potentially acquire seven more soaks to use in our healing drinks, so here’s a full list with locations (whenever possible, as one or two of these are obtained by random chance.)

Laurel Buds

TheLaurel Budsare the first new soak in Chapter 2 and can be found in a container, in front of a statue on an altar, in Sandgate Village.A Rat Governor is guarding it, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as you get in close before it can start shooting lightning at you.Cloud Stepwill make it easy to get close. The closest Shrine to the soak is the Village Entrance Shrine. You can drop off the bridge just ahead of the shrine and head into the cave on the right, then up the stairs on the left side of the cave and follow the path into the village to find the Governor and the container with the soak inside.

TheLaurel Budsincrease damage reduction by a moderate amount for a short time after you take a sip, which can greatly improve the Destined One’s survivability against the game’s stronger bosses.

Steel Ginseng

This one is another special case, not unlike the Tender Jade Lotus soak in chapter 1.There’s a chance for you to get theSteel GinsengSoak whenever you harvest Ginseng. One place you’re able to find ginseng is in the narrow crevice where the Man-In-The-Stone can be found. The Ginseng is underneath a bridge, making it fairly easy to drop next to it from above if you head backwards through the area from the Rockcrest Flat Shrine.

TheSteel GinsengSoak grants you focus whenever you take a sip, helping you to pull out variable combos and heavy attacks more frequently. That said, you’re pretty unlikely to need this in most situations since the Destined One gains focus pretty quickly anyway, as long as you’re dodging with good timing and landing some light combos.

Iron Pellet

While you’re in the crevice with the Man-In-The-Stone, you can also get theIron PelletSoak. To get this Soak you’ll need to defeat the Mother of Stone and bring the item she drops to the Man-In-The-Stone.Doing this will turn him hostile, but after you defeat him he’ll beg for mercy and, after you speak to him again, offer to open a shop. Rest at a Shrine and return to him and you’ll be able to purchase several items from him, including theIron PelletSoak (in exchange for 6,480 will.)

TheIron PelletSoak makes it impossible for you to be interrupted while drinking from the gourd and gives you a huge damage reduction boost while doing so, which can be a useful safety net when healing in certain risky situations.

Copper Pill

TheCopper PillSoak can be found after defeating the Tiger Vanguard.you’re able to find it in a container just down the path past the Tiger Vanguard Boss Room.(You can’t miss it, it’s the one with the blood pool) Take out the rat with the shield nearby and pop open the golden container to nab theCopper Pill.

TheCopper Pillis a situational pill that will either be useless or incredibly useful, depending entirely on whether you make regular use of theRock Solidspell. Every time you take a sip, this Pill will make the next casting of Rock Solid cost no mana, as long as you use it within a short time after taking that sip. This is, naturally, fantastic if you enjoy usingRock Solidto parry and counterattack.

Tiger Relic

The Tiger Relic is a soak obtained by draining the blood pool in the Tiger Vanguard’s boss room and heading beneath that area. To do this, you’ll need to defeat the Tiger Vanguard and the Stone Vanguard, retrieving masks from them that can be placed on the statue in front of the pool. Once this is done, the pool will drain and you can head down. When you reach the section where you slide down towards the Cellar Shrine, you’ll need to jump and perform a heavy attack while sliding to gain the height and distance to reach the platform where the relic is found.

The Tiger Relic provides a boost to critical hit chance for a short time after taking a sip, making it great for critical-focused builds.

Goat Skull

The Goat Skull Soak moderately increases the Destined One’s maximum health for a while after they take a sip, which can be handy when you need a little extra health to work with. To get this Soak you’ll need to repeatedly harvest licorice until you find it. You can find a lot of licorice in the Kingdom of Sahali, Chapter 2’s Secret Area.
