Clash Royaleis a balanced game with an ever-evolving meta. While the developers regularly roll out balance changes to keep the playing field even, sometimes, they also grace us with limited-time challenges and events where all rules go out the window.
Super cards are special variants of the basic cards inClash Royalethat give them unique abilities and effects, and you get to play with them during certain events. Over the years, there have been a lot of different cards to get the super treatment, and we’ve compiled them all here for you to take a look at.
An Overview of All the Super Cards in Clash Royale
There are ten total super cards available inClash Royale’s Super Mega Draft Event. Here’s how each of them works:
Super Ice Golem
The Ice Golem is one of thebest cards for cycle decksinClash Royale, allowing you to kite your enemy’s troops for a positive elixir trade — the Super Ice Golem…not so much.
It’s a 4-elixir legendary with a much larger model than the original Ice Golem. He also has more HP, which means you can use him as a win condition. When the Super Ice Golem dies, he freezes the entire arena. Any one-HP troop like Skeleton or Bats will die instantly, making them a decent option when you’re playing against swarm-heavy decks.
The Super Ice Golem death freeze will also activate the enemy King tower, making it much harder to build up pushes later on.
Santa Hog Rider
Santa Hog Rider is a fun little super variant inClash Royale. Wearing the Santa hat on top, the lovable Hog Rider hops towards the enemy tower, leaving small presents in his wake. The presents themselves don’t do anything. However, when your other troops walk by these gifts, the presents turn into different spells.
You can get four spells this way: Clone, Heal, Rage, and Invisibility. The card costs five elixirs and has more HP and Damage compared to the regular Hog Rider. With some cheap troops, you can use this super variant to make a beefed-upHog Rider cycle deckfor the event.
The invisibility spell is particularly OP since the effect doesn’t break even when your troops are attacking the enemy.
Super Magic Archer
The super variant of the Magic Archer doesn’t do any damage on its own. But his unique effect makes him one of the deadliest supercards inClash Royale. The card shoots a piercing arrow just like the normal Magic Archer. However, every enemy unit the Super Magic Archer hits turns into your allies and starts attacking the enemy troops and towers.
It’s not just enemy troops that turn into your friends, either! If the Super Magic Archer lands a hit on the enemy tower, it will also switch sides and start attacking the King Tower. The Super Magic costs five elixirs to deploy.
The effect lasts until the enemy troops hit the converted unit or tower.
Super Witch
Super Witch combines the abilities of all three witches in the game. That means the card spawns four Skeletons like the normal Witch, spawns two Bats like the Night Witch, and curses the enemy troops like the Mother Witch so that they transform into Cursed Hogs when they die.
The card costs six elixirs and has more Hit Points than all the other Witches. She won’t die to Poison or Fireball, but Lightning or Rocket can take her out instantly.Countering this version of the Witchis pretty difficult without the right card in your deck.
Super Archers
Super Archers is another super variant that’s strong because of its effect, not the damage. For one thing, Super Archers come with better stats, which allow them to survive both Arrows and Fireball. On top of that, they shoot piercing arrows like the Magic Archer. Each hit also creates small tornados that push the enemy troops away.
Super Archers are amazing at defense, since the card only costs three elixirs.
Super Mini Pekka
The Mini Pekka is already a pretty excellent mini tank, but its super variant can win you the game solo. The unique effect of the Super Mini Pekka is that it can destroy anything, whether it’s buildings, towers, or even massive tanks, in one single hit. On top of that, as it runs across the arena, it will drop Pancakes that’ll heal it and the allies nearby.
The only way to counter this card is with swarm units. The card costs five elixirs, and one hit from iton the King Towermeans an instant three-crown victory for the player.
If you see an opponent Super Mini Pekka running to your tower, never use Tornado to the King Tower as a defense.
Super Lava Hound
The Super Lava Hound is what started it all inClash Royale. This was the first super card introduced in the game back in 2022. It plays like a regular Lava Hound, but you’ll get two smaller Lava hounds instead of splitting up into pups when it dies. It also creates a small AOE explosion, damaging nearby troops when the Super Lava Hound dies.
Even though the two Lava Hounds have smaller models, make no mistake – they are every bit as tanky as the original one. When they die, the two smaller Lava Hounds will spawn four Lava Pups a piece.
It costs eight elixirs to deploy, andfans of beatdown decksstill consider this card one of the best supers inClash Royale.
Party Rocket
The Party Rocket cardis another unique super variant that, unlike the normal Rocket, doesn’t do any damage. But its unique effect is what makes this card so good.
Like the normal Rocket, it’s an AOE spell card that targets both air and ground troops. When the Party Rocket lands, any unit caught in its AOE turns into friendly Goblins that attack the enemy tower and troops. This also includes any of your troops that get hit by the Party Rocket.
Combined with the Tornado, you can use Party Rocket to create an army of Goblins to run down the lane toward the enemy Tower.
Party Hut
The Party Hut is one of the latest super variants to join the arena and is perhaps the most broken of the lot without the right counters. It combines elements from all the Goblin cards in the game, but it also works much like the X-Bow.
The Party Goblin Hutcan target enemy troops and buildings from your side of the arena because of the Dart Goblin sitting on top of it. When it dies or times out, it spawns a Goblin Brawler, three Goblins, and three Spear Goblins.
The Party Hut costs six elixirs to deploy.
Wizard Trio
Combine the power of all three Wizards in one package, and you’ll end up with the Wizard Trio. Introduced in theMagical Trio event inClash Royale, This seven-elixir card deploys the Wizard, Ice Wizard, and Electro Wizard horizontally on the battlefield.
While it doesn’t have any unique effects like the other super cards, the combined damage output of the Wizard Trio is enough to decimate any push the enemy might want to build up. This card becomes extremely powerful when you have a tank to put in front of the three Wizards.
Mega Knight is an effective counter against this card.
With regular updates, players can expect to see more new super variants of the popular cards making an appearance in theClash Royalearena. If they ever make it to the trophy road, it’ll be interesting to see how the players use them tobuild a proper deckin the game.
