Summary

AnAnimal Crossingplayer has put together a 7-11 for their island that’s adorable and surprisingly accurate to actual convenience store layouts. TheAnimal Crossingcreation has impressed fellow fans and left some missingNew Leaf.

InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, 7-11 and the game held a limited collaboration for players in Japan. Similar to othergiveaways on the Nintendo 3DSat the time, like those for thePokemonseries, players needed to go to a physical location, connect to the internet there, and then boot up the game to receive a gift. However, the majority of these items were limited to Japan, so there’s a good chance many western players don’t even know of their existence. Regardless, with a little ingenuity, there’s no reason fans can’t build their own 7-11 inNew Horizons, like this player has.

Reddit user andAnimal Crossingfan Lucy_bao shared their 7-11 build with fans on the site. The brief video shows the player exploring the store. The front of the 7-11 has a pair of capsule toy machines, a shopping cart, an ATM, and the iconic signage the stores use. Walking inside, players can see the shelves full of goodies, some vending machines, and a pair of counters. The counters hold things like a cash register, microwave, and a deep fryer, which the player briefly shows in action. The 7-11 decorations are present inside, too, with theAnimal Crossingwallsdecorated in the stores' color scheme.

Animal Crossing Fans Applaud Clever 7-11 Build

Other players have shared praise for the convenience store build. One player was surprised that there was a fryer in the game, asking where Lucy_bao had gotten it. They responded by saying that their friend had it, and they simply ordered their own after visiting their island, but noted that manyAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsstreamersshare resource islands that fans can go to and find a wide variety of items that they can add to their own islands afterward. One fan lamented the lack of official 7-11 items in the game in comparison toNew Leaf. While some ofNew Leaf’s 7-11 items and some brand-new ones were made available inHappy Home Designer, they haven’t reappeared since then.

Animal Crossing: New Horizonsdidn’t have many collaborations with businesses, perhaps in part due to its launching in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Generally, DLC giveaway items are now accessed online via the Switch without the need to go to a specific physical location regardless. It remains to be seen if thenextAnimal Crossinggamefeatures more real world tie-ins than its predecessor.
