Summary
Apex Legendsplayers have discovered a Newcastle bug that nerfs his Tactical Ability, Mobile Shield. While Season 22 ofApex Legendsbrought new content, including a new map, it also introduced some bugs that have frustrated the player base.
Since the start of Season 22 at the beginning of August, players have encountered various issues when trying to play the game. Early on, someApex Legendsplayers encountered Ranked problems, preventing them from playing matches in the competitive mode. While Respawn Entertainment was able to fix this problem, fans have complained about performance issues on the new E-District map, and others have found bugs involving Legends, such as Rampart and Vantage, making their Ultimate weapons’ laser sights invisible when using the Katar Artifact.
Unfortunately, players continue to point outbugs impactingApex Legends, with a content creator known as Manuzz revealing a frustrating issue with Newcastle. In a Reddit post, Manuzz pointed out that the Support Legend’s Tactical Ability, Mobile Shield, had a broken upgrade. According to the content creator, one of Newcastle’s first upgrade options, Mobile Support, which is supposed to increase the speed of his shield, did not work. As a result, those who chose this upgrade path essentially were voiding a potential enhancement to the character’s abilities.
Newcastle Mobile Shield Bug in Season 22
This accidental nerf toNewcastle inApex Legendsis doubtlessly frustrating to those playing the character in Season 22. While he is already one of the least-picked Legends in the battle royale, this bug could make him an even less enticing option for players. Despite some players in the Reddit comments saying the additional 250hp upgrade path is the better option for the character’s Tactical, others said they enjoyed using the faster Mobile Shield speed for pushing offensively into fights. However, this strategy is made more difficult due to this Season 22 bug.
It is currently unknown when bugs like Newcastle’s broken upgrade will be fixed, as the developer has not commented on the problem. While these bugs persist in the game, Respawn has given some news on other fixes it is working on implementing. Specifically, it recently updated the community on thecheater issue inApex Legends. The dev update revealed the number of accounts banned on average monthly, and some of the tools and technology used to combat threats were detailed. Hopefully, Respawn can improve the game’s stability and security so players can enjoy playing as intended in the months ahead.
