Larian Has Invited More Baldur’s Gate 3 Players for Patch 7’s Closed Beta
Larian Studios revealedBaldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 7back in July, and the update is currently scheduled to be out in September. The patch promises several fixes, as well as the introduction of new “Evil Endings” for evil-aligned characters, and revamped split-screen gameplay that will be more dynamic. Another highlight of the patch is the Mod Manager option. Hopefully, official modding support will enable more players to create content for the game, strengthening the title’s already thriving modding scene.
Patch 7 is expected to be the last major update thatBG3will receive, as Larian has already confirmed that it will not develop a DLC or a sequel for the game. The decision to move on from its most successful project to date to work on two yet unannounced games was seen as controversial by some people, but Larian recently explained whythe studio chose not to makeBaldur’s Gate 4. According to Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke, using the same mechanics and essentially just making more content was not seen as “exciting” enough for the team, so they decided to move on to new projects that were deemed more challenging.
