Most of the time,Baldur’s Gate 3players encounter these Origin characters as optional party members on their adventures, but they also have the option of playing them as their primary avatar.
Larian recently pulled the curtain back on a bunch of interestingBaldur’s Gate 3stats in celebration of the game’s one-year anniversary. This included the game’s most popular Origin characters. According to Larian, 1.21 million players chose Astarion as their avatar, with 1.20 million picking Gale and another 0.86 million picking Shadowheart. Astarion,portrayed by Neil Newbon, is easily one of the most popularBaldur’s Gate 3characters, and so it’s really no surprise to see him take the top spot. Shadowheart and Gale are also very popular within theBaldur’s Gate 3community, though some may be surprised that Karlach didn’t take a spot in the top three.
Most-Picked Baldur’s Gate 3 Origin Characters As Avatars
While there are someBaldur’s Gate 3players that choose one of the Origin characters as their avatar, it seems the vast majority opted to create their own character from scratch. According to Larian’s data, over 93% ofBaldur’s Gate 3players created a custom character instead of picking an Origin character, with 15% of thosepicking Dark Urge.
Besides revealing the most popular Origin character options, Larian also revealed the top-picked classes and races inBaldur’s Gate 3. It seems Paladin was the most popularBaldur’s Gate 3class, while Elf was the most-picked race. The least-pickedBG3class was Cleric, while Halfling was the least popular race among fans of the game.
