According to theBattlefield Blog, these are going to be “multi-week moments” where players can unlock specific Portal content for use within the main All-Out Warfare mode. DICE has done similar things in the past bybringing Portal-only weapons intoBattlefield 2042, though with Vault Drops, the studio is extending this feature to include vehicles as well. Each one will allow players to try then unlock the content permanently and offer Mastery, Attachments, and Universal skins. The plan is to start Vault Drops later in 2024, teasing a highly requested Portal vehicle finally making the jump into All-Out Warfare.
While players will no doubt be pleased about the opportunity to continue playing, fans should keep an eye on the Halloween event as DICE has already proven it knows how to create some genuinely creepy activities inBattlefield 2042. Recently, players were able to take part inBattlefield 2042’sDead Spacecrossover event, with specific free rewards and even Isaac Clarke gear that could be purchased through the in-game shop. The Outbreak mode pits 4 players against waves of enemies, not only trying to survive but hold objectives and eventually extract. It proved to be a popular addition, so the sky is the limit on what DICE could be bringing to the table with its planned Halloween-style event later this year.
