Summary
Post-war Appalachia isn’t the most welcoming of places. That said, there are plenty of places where the player can settle down in relative peace.Fallout 76’s C.A.M.P. building feature is popular among all types of gamers. Whether the player wants topop down a couple of prefabsand fill the interior or create a detailed base from scratch, there are plenty of options to choose from.
TheCranberry Bog regionis one of the more hostile areas inFallout 76.With Scorchbeasts flying around the place, hostile robots, and lots of other aggressive enemies, players may wonder if there are any relatively safe places to build in this region. While there are no places that are 100% free from enemy interference, there are a few relatively peaceful locations where players can set up shop.
6Flooded Trainyard
A Surprisingly Calm Area
If the player heads slightly east of the Flooded Trainyard, they will come acrossa fairly flat open area that is perfect for building. While it does have a few trees and a few dips in the ground, all things considered, this is relatively clear when compared to many other C.A.M.P. locations in this region.
Not only is it relatively flat, but players shouldn’t encounter too much enemy interference if they decide to build here. Also, since it’s just a stone’s throw away from the Snallygasters that inhabit the Flooded Trainyard, it’s a very handy location to have access to when completing challenges thatrequire the player to kill Cryptids.
5Drop Site V9
A Front Row Seat To The Scorchbeast Queen
Fallout 76’s first boss battle is a very popular event that sees most players from any given server traveling to join in the battle whenever somebody launches a nuke over Fissure Site Prime. Provided the player places their C.A.M.P. behind Drop Site V9, their base should remain untouched by any nukes that have been set to detonate in this area.
The main reason why this is among thebest places to build in the Cranberry Bog regionis how much player traffic comes through the area. When Scorched Earth has been triggered, since most of the players on the server will flock to Drop Site V9,any player with a C.A.M.P. in the area will get an influx of visitors. This is great for those keen traders who are looking tosell items in their C.A.M.P. Vendors.
4Firebase Hancock
A Great View Of Sparse Sundew Grove
The area south of Firebase Hancock is often overlooked as a viable build location. While the player will encounter some enemy interference here, it’s more than worth it for the great views of the nearby Sparse Sundew Grove. Gamers often overlook this area, which makes it an ideal place to call home, as the player is unlikely to load into a world only to be greeted with the “CAMP Can’t Be Placed” message.
The area is relatively clear of obstructions, which makes building here pretty easy. Whether the player wants to put together a couple of prefabs orbuild something more elaborate, there’s enough space to incorporate most build ideas.
3Sacramental Glade
A Great Open Clearing
Sacramental Glade isn’t as popular as it used to be. However, despite having gone through a drastic change during the Once In A Blood Moon update, it is still a good area to build near. While there are lots of enemies within the location itself, if the player heads slightly east of Sacramental Glade, then they’ll come across a large open clearing that is perfect for building.
The enemies that inhabit Sacramental Glade typically won’t venture out far enough to attack anyC.A.M.P.s that are placednearby, making it a great and peaceful location to call home. The area to the east is open and pretty flat, providing players with a blank canvas where they can show off their creative builds.
2Kerwood Mine
A Clifftop Retreat
Kerwood Mine is located on the border between the Savage Divide and the Cranberry Bog. What makes this place so great is the views it offers. If the player makes their way behind the mine, then there are plenty of cliff edges where they can build a base that won’t get a lot of enemy visitors.
There are hiking trails on top of the mine that are free from most obstructions. Also, it is possible to place a C.A.M.P. in such a way that grants the playera stunning view of the whole Cranberry Bog region.
1Veiled Sundew Grove
Build Along A Main Road
Veiled Sundew Grove has a lot going for it when it comes to build options. There is an abandoned home nearby that players can build within. This is great for those who enjoyincorporating existing structures into their builds. Also, Veiled Sundew Grove is right by a main road. This road has lots of space for gamers to build. Players may need to place down a few turrets, as there are a couple of possible enemy spawn points nearby. However, there are also some friendly NPC spawn points, which can help to give the player’s base a ‘lived-in’ feel.
With a bit of work, it’s possible to create a truck-stop style C.A.M.P. thatplayers can visit to browse C.A.M.P. vendors. With the introduction of player-made caravans coming to the game, truck-stop-style builds are going to become increasingly popular as players enjoy creating builds that allow for immersive gameplay.
