Concordhas a really fun mechanic in place that makes cycling through numerous characters a rewarding choice. Normally, players pick their main character and hop into the match, butConcordlets players put together a crew of Freegunners to serve as thecharacter selection roster.
This will involveselecting different Variantsof the game’s characters one after the other until they have a total roster of 12 characters. Then, once they find a game, they can select a character between deaths from this roster, with each choiceadding a Crew Bonusbased on the character they chose.
How To Use Crew Builder In Concord
From the main menu, players will select Freegunners, then selectCrew Builder— this will unlock once they have hit level 6. Players will then be able to mark one of the listed crew setups, create a new crew, or delete an existing one. When players make their crew, they can put them in any order they like. There will be instructions below on how to clear the last slot, swap a character into a specific slot, and review the details of characters.
The crew they mark as their active lineup will be the character-selected roster they have access to while playing matches, so players can make different lineups for different game modes. This is perfect when players enjoy swapping between many different characters in a single match. When a player uses a character in a match, that character will activate a Crew Bonus. This bonus will linger for any characters they change to mid-match. They can get a buff from each of the 6 classes. Concord hasbeen in development for a very long time, so a lot of thought has gone into such an elaborate mechanic.
This is also how players will be able to select one of the many Variant characters they unlock in the game. Players can even have multiple Variants of the same character on a single roster.
All Crew Bonuses In Concord
Each of the game’s characters offers a different Crew Bonus based on their class. There are six of these classes in total, each offering a different style of playing and a different Crew Bonus. These are Anchor, Breacher, Haunt, Ranger, Tactician, and Warden.
Anchor
These characters are big, intimidating, and the closest thing to a tank class in the game. However, they are incredibly slow compared to other characters. However, playing one of these characters before playing others will see the rest of your choices receiving increased healing. The characters in this category consist of 1-0ff and Emari.
Breacher
Breachers are for players who want to rush into combat. There are 2 Breachers currently in the game — Star-Child and DaVeers. Star-Child has a literal rushing attack with improved defense, followed by a mighty slamming attack. DeVeers can leave blobs of combustible ooze all around a map, and then ignite it. Playing either of them first will mean all other characters will have a faster dodge cooldown.
Haunt
A Haunt is all about high mobility and getting around the map effectively. They also have some unorthodox approaches to combat. Bazz has a high-damage melee ability,Roka is an aerial rocketeer, and It-Z is able to teleport and disrupt enemy abilities. Using any of them will grant improved mobility for the rest of the match.
Ranger
Rangers are great all-rounders. They tend to be able to work their way into any situation you may find yourself in. Teo, Jabali, and Dutchess all have automatic weapons, and ranged damage abilities. What sets them apart is Teo’s smoke grenade, Jebalis healing orb, and Dutchess’ barrier. Play any of them for improved weapon recoil.
Tactician
Tacticians will litter the map with deployables. Some will benefit allies, some will hinder opponents, and some will do both at the same time. Daw will place plenty of healing stations, Kyps can detect enemies before they come around corners, and Lark can make a pathway of spores to help speed allies along. Use them as your first pick to have a faster reload speed for all follow up characters.
Warden
These are the best-ranged options in the game. Characters that players can take out their foes while staying out of range of their bomb, traps, and other such abilities. Haymar can hover in the air while raining fire down on her foes.Lennox can relentlessly fire off his weapons without needing to reload, and Vale is the dedicated sniper of the game. Playing either of these three characters will grant longer weapon range for the other characters in your lineup.
Best Crew Setup In Concord
It comes down to what character a player is going to be using for the majority of the match. The best setup is to decide on what character you are going to be using and what role they will be playing — then work your way backward from there. Not all characters need all the Crew Bonuses, and trying to get all of them on a single character can end up with a 29-30 result in the enemy team’s favor from too long a setup.
If a player enjoys Lennox Variant I, then playing any Breacher as your first pick will mean he gets a faster dodge cooldown for his Combat Trait to play off of. Playing an Anchor first will mean he receives increased healing. Each individual character will want to use a different setup.Players who enjoy trophy huntingare going to need to get all of the characters to level 10.
However, some buffs can be more valuable than others. The ImprovedMobility from a Hauntmeans players will be able to get to zones much faster, and an entire team is made slightly faster puts rushing the zone in their favor. However,Faster Reload Speedcan decide who wins a 1v1 exchange between two players. Whenever players need to reach a specific area, always start with a Haunt.
