Ghost Recon Wildlandsis one of the most popular games in the series and with good reason. The game’sunique open-world settingin Bolivia offers a range of environments from thick tropical jungles to arid desert plains, and players must battle both the Santa Blanca cartel and the corrupt UNIDAD authorities to succeed. Players will have a range of valuable tools, weapons, and vehicles at their disposal, including several unique and powerful pistols.
While pistols are typically used in desperate situations when the main assault or sniper rifles have run out of ammunition, they can often be an excellent tool forclose-quarters combatsuch as clearing various buildings and areas throughout the game. Some of the better pistols are good enough that they can even surpass some of the heavier weapons in other categories despite their much smaller size.
8El General
A Highly Accurate And User-Friendly Pistol With Great Overall Stats
El General is a unique variant of the M9 handgun and possesses some of the best Handling stats in the entire game. This means that recoil is almost a non-issue for this weapon, allowing for a very tight bullet spread at a relatively decent range.
The stats of this variant are all improved slightly over the standard M9, with the largest gains to be found in Damage and Penetration. To unlock this weapon, players will need totake out General Baro, the leader of UNIDAD, in the Flor De Oro region.
7M1911 Golden
An Ornate Variant Of The Powerful Handgun
Few guns inGhost Recon: Wildlandslook better than the M1911 Golden, and in terms of performance, it is also one of the best pistols in the game. In addition to its golden engravings, the pistol also comes with a silencer as standard.
While not as powerful as some other high-caliber pistols, the M1911 is still an impressively solid sidearm at any stage of the game. Players can acquire the Golden variant by purchasing the Santa Blanca Ghost Pack from the in-game item store.
6Whisper
A Highly Effective Silenced Pistol Befitting Its Name
Whisper is arguably the best pistol in the game, offering a range of high stats, including exceptional Handling and Accuracy. The pistol is alsoautomatically silenced, making it an ideal stealth weapon for taking out enemies undetected.
While it may not have the high Damage and Penetration of some other weapons, it offers more than enough when compared to other silenced weapons, making it one of the most powerful silenced weapons in the game too.
5Lady Killer
A High-Powered And Stylish Stealth Pistol
The Lady Killer is a unique variation of the 5.7 USG, though it offers additional Accuracy, Penetration, and Noise Reduction. This pistol is permanently silenced, but it still retains much of the power and range of an ordinary weapon.
To unlock it, players will need to first complete the missions within the Mojocoyo area, one of the tougher production districts in the game. After completing this section and capturing Antonio (El Gato), players will be given the weapon as a reward.
4Peacemaker
The Quintessential American Revolver
The Peacemaker is a powerful six-shot revolver ideally suited to taking on heavily armored opponents. With high Penetration and exceptionally high Damage for a pistol, the Peacemaker has little regard forstealth or subtlety, instead prioritizing devastation.
While the slightly slower and more precise style of the revolver may not be to everyone’s preference, the power of this particular weapon is so strong that it can almost double as an explosive weapon when taking on lighter vehicles.
3Luger
An Old School Relic With Excellent Overall Stats
This semi-automatic WW2 pistol performs well across the board, with lethal Damage and Accuracy, along with a reasonable Rate of Fire and Penetration. On top of these great stats, it is one of the best-looking guns in the game, with an ivory grip engraved with anS.P.Q.R. banner.
Despite being an older model, the Luger easily outperforms many of the modern pistols in the game. The only downside of the pistol is that it is part of a content pack, rather than being unlocked or found within the game world.
2D-50
A Powerful .50 Cal Handgun Ideal For Taking On UNIDAD
The D-50 is based on the infamous 50. Caliber Desert Eagle pistol, an incredibly powerful magazine-fed sidearm capable of shooting through even medium armored vehicles. Whether fighting against the Santa Blanca cartel or more heavily armored UNIDAD troops, the D-50 is a safe bet either way.
The downside of the weapon is its inability to be silenced, and a relatively high recoil for a pistol. However, this is easily made up for with its devastating power combined with a solid ammo capacity and Accuracy. To unlock it, players will need to identify the location byinterrogating any cartel Lieutenantin the Libertad region.
1.357 Joker
A Powerful Revolver With Santa Blanca Engravings
The .357 Joker is a modified Colt Python and one of the few revolvers players can acquire in the game. Its main strength, like the D-50, is in its stopping power, allowing it to take down even heavily armored enemies often in a single hit.
It can also be effective against some smaller vehicles - such is the power of this pistol. To unlock it, players will need to have purchased the Last Chance Ghost Pack, which also comes with variousWild-Western-themeditems.
