Crime Scene Cleaner, despite all the blood and gore, is an oddly relaxing cleaning simulator. You play as Kovalsky, the one-man cleanup crew for the mob. Whether it’s a shootout, revenge, or a classic mob hit, you’re there to clean up the scene of the crime once the mob has had their fun. Your job each time is to scrub the place clean, get rid of the evidence, and dispose of the bodies.

As you progress through the missions, picking up the secrets and collectibles, you’ll gain experience points. With enough experience points, you’ll earn a level that you can use to unlock different skills in the skill tee. While each of the skills is worth getting, there are some that are worth unlocking early on inCrime Scene Cleaner.

Best Skills to Unlock in Crime Scene Cleaner

Here’s a list of all the best skills that players can get inCrime Scene Cleaner:

Cleaning Speed (I & II)

The Cleaning Speed skill picked up from the Cleaning tab of the skill tree can make your job extremely efficient. This skill makes cleaning with a mop or sponge faster by 10% for level I and an additional 10% for level II. While cleaning speed isn’t a huge deal for the first one or two missions, as you keep progressing through, the speed starts mattering a lot more.

The Cleaning Speed I can be picked up as soon as you reach your apartment after finishingthe Bad Call mission. However, to get to the Cleaning Speed II upgrade, you’ll have to invest an extra point into Additional Mop/Sponge.

Inthe Italian Job mission, you’ll have to clean an entire restaurant, which will become easier to do with this upgrade.

Dual Wielding

Dual Wielding is the final upgrade in the Sponge branch of the Cleaning tab in the skill tree. That means you’ll have to sink a lot of points into this branch to get to this upgrade. But frankly, there are a few upgrades in the game that are as good as this.

As the name suggests, Dual Wielding allows you to use two sponges at once. So you may clean up more of those pesky bloodstains before you have to rush to the bucket to rinse them. And since you’ll unlock all the other Sponge skills to get to this, by the time you unlock Dual Wielding, you won’t have to use your mop at all to clean up the crime scene.

Using the Sponge won’t destroy objects like glasses or bottles, making it particularly useful in theTrial by Blood mission pool area.

Soap Spray Attachment

If you’re a mop guy instead, the Soap Spray Attachment is an excellent skill in which to invest your points. Like Dual Wielding, it’s the final skill in the Mop branch. With this skill unlocked, you’ll be able to spray soap on the surface, which will allow you to clean difficult stains much easier.

The alternative to this skill, the Self Cleaning Attachment, lets you clean the Mop once before having to take it to the wash bucket. Needless to say, the Soap Spray Attachment is much better. If you don’t want to use sponges, get the Soap Spray Attachment skill.

Foam Cannon

You’ll find the Foam Cannon skill in the Station branch of the Pressure Washer tab inCrime Scene Cleaner’s skill tree. You can unlock it pretty easily since it only costs 3 points and 2 prerequisite skills in the branch.

With this upgrade, you can now add detergents to your Pressure Washer. The Pressure Washer is already a pretty handy tool on its own. But with the Foam Cannon upgrade, you’ll be able to complete entire missions without resorting to any of your other tools.

Clean Detergent & Power Detergent

Both the Clean Detergent and Power Detergent skills can be found in their own branch in the Water tab of the skill tree, and both of them are excellent upgrades to get. Detergents are pretty strong inCrime Scene Cleanerand can make your job much more efficient once you know which one to use for a specific situation.

These two upgrades essentially unlock two extra detergents for you to use during missions. The Clean Detergent slows down how quickly the wash bucket gets stained, and the Power Detergent lets you clean difficult stains faster.

You’ll find the two unlocked detergents in the Detergent section in your Tool Wheel.

Treasure Hunter

For the completionists out there who have to collect every single collectible, the Treasure Hunter skill in the Cleaner Sense branch in the General tab is worth picking up. Your Cleaner Sense (Q) is already a pretty handy tool.

With this upgrade unlocked, the Cleaner Sense will also highlight valuable items like money, statues, or even cassette tapes that are within range. Considering how money and the other collectibles in the game contribute to your experience, picking up Treasure Hunter early will make it easier to unlock all the skills in the game.

Treasure Hunter also makes it easier to hunt downall achievements inCrime Scene Cleaner.

No Cooldown

Speaking of Cleaner Sense, players' only problem with the ability is how fast it runs out. At its base level, it also has a pretty long cooldown, which can be annoying when you’re scrubbing out the last bit of bloodstains on a surface.

If you want to always have the Cleaner Sense available, the No Cooldown skill in the General tab is worth picking up. It’s the final skill in the Cleaner Sense branch, but since the branch only has a few skills, you won’t have to waste a lot of points unlocking No Cooldown.

Ozonator

Unlike most tools in the game, you won’t get the Ozonator automatically. To use this tool, you’ll need to unlock it from the General tab in the skill tree. While most might take it as a sign that it’s not as important, unlocking the Ozonator is one of the best investments you can make inCrime Scene Cleaner.

When you’re dealing with an area with many difficult stains (purple bloodstains in Cleaner Sense), place your Ozonator near it. After a while, the difficult stains will weaken, and you may mop them up with one pass. It’s a highly efficient tool that we recommend unlocking beforethe Short Circuit missionin the game.

The ozonator takes around a minute to fully weaken the nearby bloodstain.

Careful Steps (I & II)

InCrime Scene Cleaner, walking over bloodstains causes players to leave bloody footprints wherever they go. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s certainly annoying since it’s more work for you.

The Careful Steps skill found in the General tab gets rid of this problem. With the first upgrade, the number of footprints you leave will be reduced massively. If you decide to invest two extra points for the Careful Steps II upgrade, you won’t have to worry about leaving any footprints at all!

You’ll need to clean all the bloody footprints in each mission if you want toget the perfect score.

The skills that we mentioned in this guide will improve your cleaning efficiency and help make your job easier as aCrime Scene Cleaner. Make sure you spend all your points when you’re in your apartment, as you won’t be able to unlock new ones when you start a mission.
