Who is Lucius Zogratis?
The Current Villain of Arc 11 Has Been Foreshadowed Since the Beginning
Lucius Zogratis is theeldest brother of the Zogratis siblingsand the twin brother of Julius Novachrono. They were born in the Spade Kingdom. Julius Novachrono later became the Wizard King of the Clover Kingdom with a Time Magic attribute, while Lucius has Soul Magic. When differentiating between the two brothers, Julius is depicted with blonde hair and a hollowed-out sun mark on the right side of his forehead, whereas Lucius has black hair and a dark sun mark on the left side of his forehead.
Their siblings, Dante, Vanica, and Zenon Zogratis, formed the Dark Triad and took over the Spade Kingdom. Lucius bided his time for his ultimate goal. However, there is more to Lucius than meets the eye. Lucius was born into a family of Devil Hosts and was the most talented of his siblings.
Lucius was born with two souls in his body, Julius Novachrono and the other Lucius. In Chapter 333, the two brothers likely lived in harmony in one body; however, Lucius soon took over Julius’s body when he predicted Julius would stop his plan. Throughout the series, it has been well-known that Julius Novachrono, the Wizard King, often goes on excursions and disguises himself to learn various magic abilitiesthroughout the Clover Kingdom.
Through this, he was not out of character to be missing for extended periods, often disappearing for periods longer than one year from the kingdom. In the manga, Lucius is frequently depicted as an adult in a wheelchair with his younger siblings. Lucius would likely visit his siblings when Julius wandered the kingdom in disguise.
Upon the revelation of Devils and their Magic abilities, Damnatio sought out the origins of the Devils and Devil Hosts. Through his research, he discovered the three rulers of the Underworld: Beelzebub, Lucifero, and Astaroth. However, Astaroth, who has the Time Magic attribute, has disappeared from the Underworld. To date, Julius is the only human who possesses Time Magic abilities. Once Julius realized he had two souls within him, Lucius quickly took control of his body.

Lucius Zogratis strives to bring true peace to the world; that is his ultimate goal. To do this, he plans to “fix all of mankind.” In his one-year and three-month absence, Lucius retrieved one of the supreme rulers of the Underworlds, Lucifero’s heart, and took control of all the remaining Devils within the Underworld.
He did this in preparation for Judgment Day. Judgment Day is the Holy War Lucius planned to rule over everyone as the Final Wizard King. Lucius will combine his sibling’s Body, Blood, and Bone Magic to strengthen his Soul Magic. Lucius then plans to destroy everyone and remake them with the help of his sibling’s magic abilities. With this, Lucius believes he will bring true peace and become the world’s savior.
What are Devil Hosts?
Asta is not the only person who can host a Devil
A Devil Host is an individual who has direct access to a Devil’s powers. Thus, a devil host receives immense power and can use the devil’s magic abilities. At least two families are known to have formed contracts with Devils: the Zogratis family in the Spade Kingdom and theFaust Family in the Clover Kingdom.
There are a few ways to gain the power of a Devil. The first is bybargaining with the Devil.With this method, the human offers a piece of their body to the Devil to gain more of the Devil’s power. Another method is the Devil-Binding Ritual, in which the host will battle with the Devil to make a formal contract. Additionally, a human can also be forcefully turned into a Devil’s Host. However, these are called Paladins. Only Lucius Zogratis can turn humans into Paladins and incarnate a purified Devil, creating a new holy power within them.
What is Lucius’s Magic Power?

As mentioned above, Lucius can manipulate Soul Magic. As he and Julius are two souls living in the same body, he can also useJulius’s Time Magic abilities. As in its name, Soul Magic can manipulate one’s soul. To use the technique, Lucius must touch the head of the individual he wishes to use this magic on for it to be effective.
Once this condition has been met, Lucius can transform the soul of any person he touches. Using this technique, Lucius can also incarnate a purified devil into an individual he calls Paladins. Lucius notes that the soul is the source of a human’s life, mind, and magic abilities. Once Lucius uses this power, he can alter that person’s ideology.
However, their personality, memories, and mannerisms remain the same. The only difference is that the individuals affected by this Soul Magic are compelled to believe Lucius is righteous and eager to do his bidding, even to kill those closest to them. In addition to Lucius’s Soul Magic and his twin brothers' Time Magic, Lucius can also use Gravity Magic. This is because he consumed Lucifero’s heart after the Spade Kingdom Raid when he was weakest. In his preparation for Judgement Day, Lucius also obtained his younger siblings' Body, Blood, and Bone magic, allowing him to create humans and clones of himself.
