Summary
Bosch: Legacyseason 3 is set for release in 2025, and it’ll be followed by the Renee Ballard spin-off series, starring Maggie Q as a cold case detective with links to Harry Bosch. Titus Welliver will have a recurring role as Bosch in the spin-off series as he assists Ballard with a grisly case. In addition to this,six casting announcements in total have been made for series regulars who will join Maggie Q and Welliver in the upcoming debut season.
Courtney Taylor, John Carroll Lynch, Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles and Amy Hill will all join the cast of the untitled Renee Ballard spin-off series,with production already underway. In addition to this, Ricardo Chavira, Noah Bean, Alain Uy and Hector Hugo will all appear in recurring roles.Maggie Q will show up sooner than expectedin the finale ofBosch: Legacyseason 3 to set up the spin-off series, which will be based on Michael Connelly’s book,Desert Star.

John Carroll Lynch
John Carroll Lynch is probably best known for playing Arthur Leigh Allen in David Fincher’sZodiacin 2007. Allen was one of the prime suspects in the horrific serial killer case, and it was an unsettling and memorable performance by Lynch. He also famously played Margie’s husband, Norm Gunderson, inFargoin 1996, and he has consistently appeared in television and movie roles for over 30 years.
Michael Mosley
Mosley is best known for playing Mason Young in Netflix’s hit drama series,Ozark, but he’s also appeared in a string of other television shows, includingKidnapped, ScrubsandThe Sinner.
Rebecca Field
Field has made a number of guest appearances on television shows, includingThe Rookie, L.A.’s FinestandShameless. Her most recent role was in the law drama,All Rise, but the Ballard series will be her biggest role to date.
Victoria Moroles
Moroles is best known for the role of Hayden Romero in the hit MTV series,Teen Wolf, but she’s been a regular on television screens for over a decade now.
Amy Hill
Easily the most experienced member of the Ballard cast, Amy Hill made her acting debut in 1984, in two episodes of the television series,Fifty/Fifty. She’s gone on to make nearly 200 appearances in television shows and movies. She is also a notable voice actor, with credits includingLilo and Stitch, American DadandKing of the Hill.

Michael Connelly, Trish Hofmann, Michael Alaimo and Kendall Sherwood will serve as executive producers on the untitled Ballard series,but no release date has been announced yet. The debut season will be based on Michael Connelly’s book,Desert Star, which sees Ballard and Bosch team up to hunt down a violent killer who has murdered a whole family. According to the book, this particular case is considered to be Harry Bosch’s ‘white whale’.
Renee Ballard has taken control of the poorly funded cold case unit in the LAPD, and plans to revitalize it with a team of volunteer detectives joining her.In the book,Ballard offers Bosch the chance to join the cold case unitand gain access to LAPD resources. However, the series may opt to have Bosch help out using his resources as a registered private investigator, rather than officially joining the team.
