Unfortunately, developers opted to temporarily pull access to Plunder on July 19, 2025, with an officialCall of DutyUpdates post citing the need to investigate performance problems. They didn’t specify when the mode would be returned.Call of Duty: WarzonePlunder involves teams racing to gather cashscattered around the map. The mode was previously removed early in 2024, and returned in mid-July, to the delight of its fans.

In a brief update, theCall of DutyUpdates social media didn’t detail which performance issues caused the removal, but did note that they seemed to be affecting players at the start ofWarzonematches.Call of Dutyis no stranger to performance issues, with major updates aimed attackling performance problems inWarzonespecifically in recent months.
Players responded with a mix of understanding and frustration, with social media replies calling on developers to quickly address the issue and bring back the popular mode. Some players claimed that the performance issues they experienced weren’t limited to Plunder alone, saying that lag and other problems persisted across allWarzonemodes. Plunder is well-liked byWarzonefans because of its use of unlimited respawning, allowing players to quickly get back into the action and worry less about their own safety. Plunder is also a good way to level upthe bestCall of Dutyweaponsand get practice against live players, thanks to its fast pace and hectic combat.
Warzonefans have been waiting months for renewed access to the popular Plunder mode, only to be frustrated by its sudden and unplanned withdrawal over technical problems. With luck, developers will clear Plunder for a return to theCall of Dutyplaylists in short order.
