TheDead Risingcommunity has been begging for a new entry for eight years now, with 2016’sDead Rising 4being the last installment in the popular series. While fans won’t be getting a new sequel anytime soon, Capcom did reveal aremaster of the originalDead Risingback in June. In a new interview withIGN, Capcom not only confirmed who would bevoicing Frank West inDead Rising Deluxe Remaster, but also noted that it wants to continue expanding theDead RisingIP once its upcoming remaster has been released. When asked by the outlet if Capcom has any intentions of developing moreDead Risingremasters or possibly even a new entry, the studio said it has “hopes of expanding” the popular series in the future. While Capcom didn’t specify if that would come in the form of a brand-new game or another remaster, it did note that all of its efforts are currently focused on promotingDead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which is set for release on September 19.

WithDead Risingsales continuing to surgeas fans prepare for the launch of the highly-anticipated remaster, it’s no surprise that Capcom intends to continue investing in the IP. But as the series' last entry,Dead Rising 4, received generally unfavorable reviews from players, there’s a strong chance that Capcom will stick to remaking some of the franchise’s older titles, such asDead Rising 2, which will be fourteen years old this September.

Capcom has also proved its somewhat of a master when it comes to remasters and remakes. The studio’s most recent remake came in the form of 2023’sResident Evil 4, which was likely a huge help inCapcom breaking its own sales recordsin 2023. The studio has had some other gigantic releases though over the past year, includingStreet Fighter 6, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Exoprimal, and more. But with theResident Evilseries receiving so many successful remakes, it’s hard not to believe that Capcom will take the same route with theDead Risingseries moving forward.
