Summary
The early days of Xbox Live Arcade delivered some of the most well-regarded Indie games in history. A digital storefront that launched in 2004, Xbox Live Arcade became a hub for smaller, independent video game projects when that wasn’t a staple of the industry. While not everygame on Xbox Live Arcadewas an Indie darling, a good few were, andCastle Crashersis one of them.
Originally released onto Xbox Live Arcade in 2008,Castle Crashersis a 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up that boasts a vibrant art style and a boatload of charm.Castle Crasherswas eventually ported to the PS3 and Steam in subsequent years, where its legacy as an Indie all-time great was further cemented. 16 years after its initial launch, and five years since even its last port, developer The Behemoth has announced thatCastle Crashersis getting a new DLC, and while it’s certainly a surprise, it’s a very welcome one.
