Summary

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomhad a lot of things shown in the first trailer but there weren’t a lot of cameos. The biggest examples include The Great Deku Tree and Impa. They are important Zelda characters but they aren’t wacky like the cameos found inThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

That game still boasts the most bizarre cameos from other series including Chain Chomps and Goombas from theMarioseries. There was also Wart specifically fromSuper Mario Bros. 2, Mr. Write which is an alias for Dr. Wright fromSimCity, and so on.The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomshould get some wild cameos in that vane too and these are just a few ideas.

Linkle in Hyrule Warriors

Linkle is one of the bizarreZeldacharacterswho made her debut in theDynasty Warriorsspinoff,Hyrule Warriors. She is a female version of Link who’s biggest character trait is that she gets lost. Her weapons of choice are two crossbows, giving her an edge over Link and his traditional sword. Since it looks like Link is going to be out of most of the experience, it would be funny to put Linkle in the game for a cameo. Perhaps Zelda could even think it was Link at first only to have a surprise reveal once Linkle’s hood comes down.

Cadence is the protagonist ofthe roguelike game,Crypt of the NecroDancer. She also appeared in the crossover game alongside Link and Zelda calledCadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda. If Cadence can appear as a guest in the series once, then why not again? It would make sense given that rifts are opening up in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Cadence could perhaps bestow Zelda with some sort of music-based item as dancing is a big part of Cadence’s games.

Bayonettaused to be a multi-platform series until Nintendo took over publishing it with the second game. Now, Bayonetta is as much a Nintendo icon as Zelda or Princess Peach. InBayonetta 3, a big part of the plot revolves around the multiverse soBayonettais used to zapping around other realities.

Like Cadence, the rifts could explain howBayonetta the characterended up in Hyrule over her normal existence on Earth. She would be a great female icon to pump Zelda up with a few winks to the camera as well.

Midna is fromThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princessand is arguably the best companion Link has ever had. She wasn’t constantly in his ear, hovering around like Navi fromThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Instead, she was there when Link needed her plus she rode around on Link while he was in his wolf form. The trailer forThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomalready shows Zelda can ride around on things. What if Midna shows up to turn Zelda into a wolf for a mini-game or something?

As established already,The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakeninghad a ton of fun cameos in it. Wart was a big one fromSuper Mario Bros. 2.The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomcould pay homage toSuper Mario Bros. 2once again by adding Birdo to the roster. They could be a boss or perhaps giveZeldasome egg-related items. Birdo needs more cameos in Nintendo games as the character kind of feels forgotten sometimes just likeSuper Mario Bros. 2can be a forgotten entry.

InThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, there is a long quest involving a lot of trading. At some point, players will have to deliver a lover letter to Mr. Write from Christine who is a goat. She is in love with him but is afraid that he won’t like her looks.

So, instead, Christine placesa picture of Princess Peachin the envelope, framing it as herself. It would be fun forThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomto come full circle and actually add Princess Peach to the game who may perhaps be on a quest to find Mario like Zelda is trying to Link.

Birdo in Super Mario RPG

Princess Hilda and Ravio are fromThe Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. That game has some wild revelations in it for the series. Ravio is a shopkeeper who sells Link equipment for dungeons allowing players a non-linear way to explore the game. In the end, it is revealed that Ravio is a version of Link from the other world, Lorule, who failed his kingdom and princess, Hilda. Having both in appear inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomwould work like so many others on here since, again, the rifts can explain all sorts of inter-dimensional travel.

Dampé first appeared as the Kakariko Village graveyard caretaker inThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He wasn’t in the original version ofThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakeningbut he was in the 2019 remake. There was a mini-game involving him wherein players could create their own dungeons. Since Zelda can use the Tri Rod to create matter inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it would make sense to have some sort of dungeon maker or homemaker mini-game added. Perhaps Dampécould facilitate sharing via multiplayeras well.
