The developer’s brief trailer accompanying this announcement suggests that the newly confirmed port was greenlit by popular demand, as the video highlights many social media comments fromWizard101fansasking for a console version of the game. KingIsle Entertainment is now planning to grant these requests by bringing its MMO to the PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch. The backward compatibility of Sony and Microsoft’s current-gen consoles means thatWizard101will also be playable on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Wizard101 Console Versions Launching With Cross-Play Support
The developer hasn’t yet committed to a firm release window for the console versions ofWizard101, having merely said that they’ll be coming “soon.” The company plans to have a dedicated server for the upcoming ports, which will allow it to offer cross-play between all consoles.
