Maya’s Brother Could Play a Larger Role in Black Ops 6 Zombies' Story

Black Ops Could Introduce a New Character or Be Teasing Something More

Besides the prison break angle, the only other main plot point that is made clear is that all operatives involved have a shared enemy in Richtofen. It’s easy to assume that Maya’s beef with Richtofen involves her brother’s imprisonment, but the reasoning and nature of him being locked up remains unclear.Black Ops 6’s zombies mode is making some bold moves, and its Terminus escape storyline is further proof of this.

Maya’s brother could very well be setting up a big reveal at the story’s climax. The Terminus team’s journeyof blasting through hordes of zombies while searching for this unknown brother needs to pay off in a big way if players are going to be wowed by the eventual reveal. If Maya’s brother isn’t a brand-new character, then the cinematic trailer could be teasing the reveal of a returning character who has been gone for a long time. However, which character that might be raises more questions than answers, as there isn’t anyone who would make clear sense.

At the moment, it doesn’t seem like it could be another operative, since Maya is the first operative of Filipina heritage to be featured in Zombies.Vanguard’s Isabella Reyes is anotherCall of Dutycharacter who is Filipina, but consideringVanguardtakes place in World War 2, and she’s a woman, she doesn’t meet the criteria.Black Ops 6is breaking some traditions in the franchise, and this could ultimately be further done by making Maya’s brother an all-new character whose importance is yet to be known.

Black Ops 6 Zombies Potentially Setting Up a New Character

With the options regarding an Easter egg character being really murky, a never-before-seen character may be the most realistic choice for the story to make. Since Maya is a fresh face in the Zombies story, it would only make sense for her brother to be new as well. The biggest issue with this, though, is that her brother will have to play a monumental part in the story in order to feel like a rewarding payoff. His supposed ties to Richtofen will be the key to this character’s importance, but only time will tellif Zombies sticks the landing.

On the one hand, a twist that brings a long-gone character back may be the only way to make the hunt for Maya’s brother feel worthwhile. If the character is a new role and doesn’t get the proper build-up, then the main plot of Zombies could prove to be a disappointment.Black Ops 6has high expectations from players, and the identity of Maya’s brother could potentially make or break the success of Zombies' Terminus story.
