College Football 25aims to give players the best, most immersive experience possible to bring players into the world of NCAA athletics. This includes building a powerhouse of a team in the game’saptly-named Dynasty Mode. This way of playingputs players in the shoes of a coachfor any team they want and lets them recruit, call plays, and make the decisions that they think will put their program at the top of the country. In fact, they can select just which kind of coach they want to be as they make their profile.
When starting Dynasty Mode inCollege Football 25, players will begiven the choicebetween taking the role of the Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, or Defensive Coordinator. Each of these roles will offer players a different experience when playing this mode, but they may not be as different as you think. Here is a breakdown of each role, as well as which one is the best option.
Dynasty Mode Roles, Explained
The three roles available to choose fromhave some differences, but are actually rather similar.
Taking the role of the team’s Head Coachgives players control over every aspect of the program. This means recruiting the players they want, creating the depth chart, managing their own staff, and thencalling the plays during games. Players are in charge of crafting every part of the team to give them the best shot of becoming the most powerful program in the country.
This can be overwhelming at first, and it may seem like there are too many moving parts to keep track of. This includesrecognizing which players are unhappywith their playing time and are considering leaving the team through the Transfer Portal.
Offensive Coordinator
The Offensive Coordinator role means players are in charge ofanything and everything on the offensive side of the ball. They will control the players and their playtime on this side of the ball. They won’t have to worry about superfluous things like recruiting, but also won’t have control over players leaving and getting the ones they want.
However, players are still in charge ofall play-calling during a game. Just because they are the offensive coordinator doesn’t mean they won’t be calling any defensive plays during a game.
Defensive Coordinator
Much like the Offensive Coordinator, this role puts the playerin charge of the defensive side of the ball. You will control what players are in which position when on defense, and won’t have to worry about any of the extra stuff either.
Players will alsobe able to play calls for every part of a game, including offense. They won’t have to worry about missing out on anything there. Theentire playbook and play selectionwill be open to them.
Which Role Is Best?
With how similar each role is, it’s hard torecommend anything other than Head Coach. Choosing Offensive or Defensive Coordinator offers much of the same experience, but with more restrictions. Having to recruit and manage players' feelings can be a lot at first, but it’s not too hard to get control of. For the most complete experience,Head Coach is the best roleto take in Dynasty Mode so players can craft their program how they want it.
