Concorddoes a good job of giving players all the information they need to know what a character is capable of and how to use them. However, some things might not be easy to grasp at first, as is the case with using Variants of all the different Freegunners.

Players will need to assemble a crew fromthe many different Freegunnersfeatured in the game. They can also use Variants of these characters in order to have different Combat Traits during matches. This will dictate what the character roster will look like during matches. If you only put the default Variants on this roster, you will only have access to those versions of the Freegunner.

How Variants Work In Concord

At the Main Menu, go to the Freegunners section — here you will find theCrew Builder. You will be able to assign 12 Crew Membersin any order you like, 5 of whom will need to be unique characters. If you only have Lennox Variant I in your active crew, then only thatLennoxwill be playable for the match. However, you may put different Variants of the same character in this lineup and use whichever one you feel like.

Each Variant has a different combat traitto make use of, and changing crew members willgive Crew Bonuses. This means you can use a character you like for theirCrew Bonusbefore switching to another Freegunner, or have a different character start to pair with one of their Variants — all in the same crew. Players can make numerous crews with different Freegunners assigned to them and decide which lineup they want for different game modes.

By default, Lennox is able to perform a combat roll that can reload his gun, which iscomparable to a certain hero from Overwatch, while Lennox Variant II will have increased ammo instead. So, having a Crew Bonus that reduces the cooldown on dodging will be a better start for Variant I. This makes putting together your crew a meaningful task.

How To Unlock Variants In Concord

To the left of the Freegunners section will be theJob Board. Here you’re able to see your Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal jobs. These will all give you XP toward your level in the game. On the far right of these tabs will beVariants and Reputation. Variants will offer a series of high-value jobs with a time limit. Complete all of these jobs within the time limit, and the Variant will be added to your Freegunners lineup.

Reputation, on the other hand, will offer different rewards as you make your way through the game. This can come in many forms of cosmetic items, but you will also unlock Variants. You will be able to see what the next reward will be only after you have completed the current one.

There isplenty of content on the way, so player feedback might influence what future variants you see down the line.
