Summary

A new update forConcordmakes a number of tweaks to the recently released hero shooter.Concordis turning out to be a complicated release for PlayStation, as though its developer Firewalk put years of effort into the project, it is facing some difficulties finding an audience large enough for the game to thrive as a live service.

Concordbeing off to a rough startis likely unsurprising to the gamers that weren’t particularly grabbed by the title when it was announced. What is more surprising to some audiences is the amount of backing that Sony has put into the title, with the company buying Firewalk Studios before its game was ever shown to the public. Regardless, Firewalk seems dedicated to fine-tuningConcordfor the audience it has been able to attract thus far.

InConcord’s new update, Firewalk made a handful of adjustments. The most important changes are a fix to the game’s weapon bob setting, an issue involving Lark’s teleport not being available when they respawn, and optimization/performance improvements for PS5 and PC. Ideally, these fixes will improve the overall experience forConcord’s players, keeping them engaged and hopefully pushing new players to give the game a look. After all, it should be noted that somegamers have enjoyed their time withConcord, even if the game has been facing somewhat of an uphill battle due to a poorly received reveal, its premium price tag, and other competition in the hero shooter genre.

These updates take strides toward improving the game’s overall quality of life, and that includes making sure that all ofConcord’s unique cast of charactersare in proper shape. For a character like Lark, their teleport ability Transplant Pod is integral to their toolkit, providing an escape route from dangerous situations. Prior to this update, for some unlucky players, if Lark’s teleport had been used prior to a respawn it would no longer be available. At best, that can be inconvenient, but at worst, it can ruin a match, making it worthy of the hasty fix.

In addition, someConcordplayers have reportedexperiencing PC issues such as consistent frame drops even ahead of launch, so further improvements to the game’s performance are undoubtedly a big win. These are issues that gamers always detest, especially on a modernsystem geared towardConcord’s high visual fidelity, as they can greatly hinder a PvP experience. As players continue to engage withConcord, they may find new areas that need tweaking, but the developers appear devoted to a quick turnaround for fixes.
