The Greens have the largest dragon in the world, but they are on a quest for the balance of power with Queen Rhaenyra raising an Army of Bastards on Dragonstone. Rhaenyra has an answer for Vhagar with Syrax, Vermithor, Silverwing, Seasmoke, and potentially Sheepstealer. Vhagar and Aemond will be overpowered if the remaining Green Dragonriders, Helaena and Daeron, do not stand by them inHouse of the Dragon.

Aemond incapacitated his brother,King Aegon II, and Sunfyre at Rook’s Restdue to a lack of foresight and lust for the Iron Throne. His ill-thought-out, not to mention spur-of-the-moment, attempt on his brother’s life resulted in the elimination of a dragon and a Dragonrider from the Greens' camp. Aegon II recuperates inHouse of the Dragon, and now Aemond stands alone, in need of Daeron and his dragon.

Daeron Targaryen’s Dragon InHouse of the Dragon

The expelled Hand of the King, Otto Hightower, name-drops Daeron’s she-dragon inHouse of the Dragon. But before him, Daemon Targaryen inHouse of the Dragon- Season 1 confirms the presence of Daeron and his dragon in the TV continuity. “They havethree adultsby my count,” he says, adding, “Dragonstone has thirteen to theirfour.” Daemon’s assessment is correct as each of Alicent and Viserys' children have adult dragons (Vhagar being the largest) and Daeron’s is on the cusp of blooming.

The four dragons in the Greens' camp are Vhagar, Sunfyre, Dreamfyre, and Tessarion. Vhagar has been hunting the Blacks' dragons and Dragonriders since the end ofHouse of the DragonSeason 1. So far, she has removed Lucerys and Arrax andRhaenys and Meleysoff the board. Vhagar, at Aemond’s command, also breathed fire at Sunfyre and Aegon at Rook’s Rest. Sunfyre’s wing caught fire and the dragon crashed into the nearby forest. As for Helaena’s Dreamfyre, it remains to be seen what direction the show takes with them.

Daeron, on the other hand, has a dragon who, according to Lord Jasper Wylde, is ready to fly to war. He mentions that Daeron’s she-dragon could be loosed on the Riverlanders to subdue the region:

And your brother Daeron’s dragon bears fighting age. Call on them [the Hightower host and Daeron and Tessarion] to suppress the Riverlands.

Daeron also has combat training, per Gwayne Hightower’s description, and rightly predicted by Otto, he will be an asset to the Greens.

Is Tessarion InHouse of the Dragon?

House of the Dragonname-dropped Tessarion in the penultimate episode at a Small Council meeting headed byPrince Regent Aemond Targaryen. Wylde is happy to report to Aemond that Tessarion has taken wing and is ready to be taken to war.

This meeting is interrupted by Ulf and Silverwing’s flight over King’s Landing. Aemond chases after them but turns back upon seeing Rhaenyra surrounded by an army of Dragonseeds.

However, in happier tidings, Prince Daeron’s dragon, Tessarion, has at last taken to wing. Your brother expects to join the fight soon.

Besides Dreamfyre, Tessarion is the only dragon at the Greens' disposal. Aemond has no choice but to rely on the support of his sibling as the war steadily ratchets up. Tessarion is described as a blue-colored she-dragon inFire & Bloodlore, andthe youngest in the Greens' faction.

Having grown up in the shadow of his siblings, and away from the Red Keep, Daeron doesn’t have that big a role in the beginning ofthe Dance of the Dragons. Once his dragon takes flight, he comes into the limelight by flying Tessarion to the Honeywine River in the Reach to aid Ormund Hightower’s host, fighting a two-pronged war against the Blacks' supporters on the banks of the Honeywine. Tessarion cuts through the Northern host formed by mounted knights under House Rowan’s Lord Thaddeus and Tom Flowers, aka the Bastard of Bitterbridge. This host is nearly as strong as the Hightower host, while the Southern host is formed by House Beesbury under Ser Alan Beesbury, House Tarly under Lord Alan Tarly, and House Costayne under Lord Owen Costayne.

The Greens win the Battle of the Honeywine against greater odds. Daeron and Tessarion’s timely arrival routs the enemy. Thaddeus Rowan retreats north with the remaining men, and Jon Roxton wounds Lord Owen Costayne with his Valyrian steel sword Orphan-Maker. Alan Tarly and Alan Beesbury are taken captive and Lord Ormund Hightower knights Daeron with hisValyrian steel sword Vigilanceand hails him as “Daeron the Daring.”

Tessarion fights in the First Battle of Tumbleton and stays with the Hightowers. She is unchained and free to fly about the town and hunt. One of the Two Betrayers,Hugh lays claim to the throne, backing it with the assertion that Tessarion is one-third of his dragon, Vermithor. A few days pass, and Addam of Hull (legitimized as a Velaryon by then) ambushes the Hightower host at night, sparking the Second Battle of Tumbleton. Daeron is killed early on, but Tessarion fights Seasmoke and Addam to the best of her abilities. They are joined by Vermithor, and all three dragons perish in the battle. Tessarion tries to fly but fails and the next day, the archer, Billy Burley, is commanded by Benjicot Blackwood to give her an easy death. He shoots Tessarion thrice in the eye, and she dies moments later.
