Summary
Behaviour Interactive has announced the newest changes coming toDead by Daylightthis August in the most recent Developer Update. Although there are no major changes being made toDead by Daylight, there are plenty of minor updates to perks, killers, and mechanics that aim to bring more factors into play throughout the game.
Dead by Daylightis an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game with one player taking on the role of a killer whose goal is to sacrifice survivors. The other four players take on the role of these survivors and must attempt to repair generators that power exit gates, allowing them to ultimately escape the killer. The game features a wide variety of characters on both sides, includingiconic horror legends such as Michael Myers. Each killer comes with a unique power and play style, while both sides can equip perks which give players special abilities within the game.
In the latest Developer Update, the 8.2.0 patch was announced and will be hitting the Public Test Build next week. This update featuresminor changes to several survivor perks. A majority of these perks have had their cooldowns and charge rates drastically reduced, allowing them to be activated more frequently within a match. Although not every addition in this update is practical, these changes in particular will allow certain perks to become more relevant and useful to players.
Alongside these perk adjustments, this update also features changes to the killers The Dredge, The Doctor, and The Nemesis. These changesaim to strengthen these killersby tweaking cooldowns, charge times, and adding in some other quality-of-life adjustments. To compensate for this, several add-ons for these killers were also slightly changed.
The last part of the Developer Update brings some slight changes tothe core mechanics ofDead by Daylight. Prestige levels are now hidden in lobbies to combat players leaving matches with high prestige players. Alongside this, hook stages will now last 70 seconds, up from the original 60 seconds to meet the changes made to generator repair times in previous updates. Finally, scratch marks will have improved visibility, allowing them to appear more vibrant on all surfaces.
Alongside the changes made to mechanics, killers, and survivor perks, the Midwich Elementary mapwill also receive a few quality-of-life adjustments to make it easier forDead by Daylightplayers to navigate. The 8.2.0 update forDead by Daylightwill be available to players on the Public Test Build next week. This will give users a chance to test out these adjustments and Behaviour Interactive the ability to alter them before they hit the live servers.
