Deadlock Bebop Overview

Bebop is ahigh DPS hero inDeadlockwho uses a Laser as his primary weapon. Despite being a DPS hero, Bebop has the second-highest maximum HP in the game, which makes him quite tanky early on. The hero has three standard abilities and an ultimate that unlocks once you reach level 6.

How it Works

Exploding Uppercut (1)

Bebop does a quick light attack that sends nearby units flying back. If the target is an enemy, they deal area damage when they land. With extra levels, the area damage and landing radius increase. Using Exploding Uppercut on an enemy hero at max level reduces Hook cooldown to 0 and fully reloads Bebop’s weapon.

Sticky Bomb (2)

Bebop attaches a bomb to a nearby target that explodes after 3 seconds. Its damage permanently increases by 2.5% for each enemy hit. This ability becomes extremely deadly in the late game if you manage to build up stacks. During the laning phase, you’re able to attach a Sticky Bomb to your ally Troopers and send them flying toward the enemy using the Exploding Uppercut. At the maximum level, the Sticky Bomb also disarms the target.

Hook (3)

Bebop launches a hook that grabs onto an enemy on hit and reels them in, dealing damage. This is the hero’s main ability that we’ll focus on. Putting more levels into this ability unlocks additional effects such as bonus damage against the hooked target, extra range for the hook, and reduced cooldown.

Hyper Beam (4)

Bebop charges up his laser to unleash a powerful energy beam that deals damage and slows enemies caught in its path. While casting, Bebop’s turn rate and movement speed are slowed. If you’re in the air while casting, Bebop will hover until the ability ends. Upgrading the ability reduces its cooldown, adds more damage, and heals Bebop for the damage it deals.

Deadlock Bebop Build Guide

Bebop excels at picking off single targets during the game’s early stages. But as the game progresses and he picks up items, he can become a massivedamage-dealing powerhouse, much like Paradox. You’ll want to build up an early Souls advantage by focusing on Trooper kills. Also, look for opportunities to Hook enemies when they step out of position.

Bebop Ability Build

Bebop is an extremely versatile hero that you can build in different ways. Our build focuses on maxing out his Hook ability to reduce its cooldown. As long as you manage to land your Hooks on target, you can isolate the enemy hero and focus him down along with your team. This is what makes this build so deadly. For the Hook-focused build, we recommend leveling up in this order: 3-1-3-2-3-4-3-2-1-2-1-2-1-4-4. Maxing out your Hook first reduces its cooldown by 12 seconds. So you can keep spamming it to force the enemy hero to play carefully.

Bebop Item Progression

Deadlockencourages players to try out different builds and item combinations on the heroes. Some of the items available in the game also come with an Active component, essentially giving you an extra ability to work with. So feel free to try out different items and see what you like best. For Bebop, these are the items that we like to build:

Early Game

Bebop usually likes to build items that boost his Ammo, Fire Rate, and Weapon Damage. Picking upRapid RoundsandSwift Strikerearly in the laning phase will make you extremely strong. Landing one Hook on the enemy will likely lead to an easy kill if an ally backs you up. You also want to pick upSprint Bootsfor some extra movement speed.Bullet LifestealandExtra Regengive you some sustain if you’re in a bad matchup. BothMystic BurstandSuper Strikecombo well with your Exploding Uppercut.Bullet Resist Shredderfurther increases your Spirit damage for the early game, allowing you to get more damage from your Exploding Uppercut and Sticky Bomb.

Mid Game

As you progress into the mid-game, work towardsTesla Bullets,Burst Fire, andVeil Walkerin that order. These are your core damage items for the hero. Also, consider upgrading yourSprint BootstoEnduring Speedfor some additional movement speed and health regen. Remember to walk into Cosmic Veils to activate the Passive component ofVeil Walker. If you’ve got extra Souls from kills,Pristine Emblemis worth picking up for that additional Weapon Damage.

While Bebop can certainly dish out the damage, he’s really not very tanky. If caught unprepared, it won’t take long for your enemies to take you down. So before you get to the late-game stage, make sure you build some defensive items that increase your HP or grant you Shields.Enchanter’s Barriergrants you a bonus Spirit Shield, whileCombat Barriergives you Bullet Shield. Ideally, you want to pick up one of these items depending on the hero matchup. Finally,Silence Glyphgives you an active Disarm and Silence to use on the enemy.

Late Game

Bebop becomes extremely deadly in the late game with the right items.Glass CannonandSiphon Bulletsare two of the best late-game items you can pick up on this hero to massively boost your damage output.Leechis another excellent item to buy that further increases your damage and gives you Lifesteal.Shadow Weaveis an active late-game item that we recommend picking up for Stealth and bonus Ammo.Curseis another active item that’s worth getting for the extra disable.

Remember to sell your low-tier items as you collect enough Souls for late-game items.

How to Play Bebop

Bebop excels at the laning stage of the game because of his weapon accuracy and ability to Hook the enemy out of position. That being said, you want to prioritize killing the Troops first to earn Souls and get your early items first. The hero relies heavily on building some damage items to stay relevant with this build.

When you’ve unlocked all your standard abilities, using his Hook, Sticky Bomb, and Exploding Uppercut combo will make it easy for you to secure kills on the enemy hero. But your priority isto farm up Souls. you’re able to press the Enemy Guardian in your lane when you get a few key items. With your laser, taking down the Guardian shouldn’t be too difficult. Once that’s done, you’re free to move to other lanes to provide additional firepower and pressure.

Bebop is strong from start of the game, but your kill potential goes through the roof when you finally unlock your ultimate. Stick to high grounds, and consider double jumping up before casting the ability. This will give you a clear line of sight of the enemies. With this hero, you want to play from the backline. Try to avoid being the focus of your opponent’s attention andremember to use slide, dash, and double jump to keep yourself away from trouble.

Bebop is most effective when he’s playing with a tanky hero like Abrams or Migginis.

All things considered, Bebop is a prettybeginner-friendly hero inDeadlock. The Hook ability takes some practice to land perfectly, but even if you miss it, it’s not the end of the world. As long as you build the right items and manage to stay alive, you’ll be able to dish out tons of damage with the hero.
