There’s no denying that theDemon Slayeranime is one of the hottest things in the industry right now. Koyoharu Gotouge’s work on this amazing manga has defined modern pop culture. Numerous fans love to see these breathing styles come to life in the anime in the best way possible. The truth is that none of the flashy effects are happening during each fight, but this creative liberty is what allows the series to flourish.
Watching Tanjiro lose his family, only to steel his resolve and learn the sword-fighting techniques required to beat the demons standing in his way, makes for an exciting watch. Ufotable has turned the static visuals of the manga into something magical. The majority ofDemon Slayerfans are invested in the series courtesy of their stellar animation work alone, with some people going so far as to say that the anime is the better way to experience the series.
5The Battle Against Kyogai Looks Amazing
Transforms The Cluttered Visuals Of The Manga
Fighting a former Upper Rank Six is no joke, and Tanjiro had to bring out his A-game tofight Kyogai with all his might. This was easier said than done, with the demon banging his drums constantly to throw the demon slayer off his game and leave him open for a killing blow. While Tanjiro was able to understand the effect each of his drums had, Kyogai went berserk and started beating his drums in a vicious fashion to take out this demon slayer for good.
What followed was an amazing visual spectacle as Tanjiro used a Water Breathing form to ensure constant mobility despite the tricky nature of the revolving room. His movements flowed like water, allowing him to close the distance before unleashing a fatal sword slash that beheaded Kyogai. This battle is hard to digest in the manga, and seeing how Ufotable did justice to this conflict is just one of the many reasons why their anime adaptation has become so legendary.
4The Hashira Get More Time To Develop
The Anime Gives Them The Screen Time They Deserve
TheHashira Training arcis wrapped up quickly in the manga before Infinity Castle rears its ugly head. So, it’s easy to see why manga fans were puzzled that Ufotable would spend an entire season just adapting this arc instead of covering a bit of the final conflict. These queries were silenced when the season aired. Lengthy episodes added extra content to flesh out the Hashira, giving them some much-needed screen time.
Characters like Muichiro, Sanemi, and Obanai get to shine the brightest, which is especially important for the latter two Hashira, who barely get any time to shine otherwise before the Infinity Castle arc in the manga. Fans are so invested in the characters of the series that watching Tanjiro and Muichiro fly paper planes along with other demon slayers makes for an endearing sight.
3The Awe-Inspiring Explosion At The Ubuyashiki Mansion
Shows The Desperation Of Kagaya And His Family
The Hashira Training arc ends withMuzan infiltrating the Ubuyashiki Mansion, hoping to lay waste to Kagaya and his family while humiliating them in the process. Seeing his sick adversary look at him with a gaze of defiance angers the Demon King, who moves in for the killing blow. However, he has no idea what his nemesis has in store for him.
In one of the most incredible moments in anime history, fans get to see the mansion explode in slow motion as Kagaya sacrifices his family in a final act of desperation to take out Muzan. The impact of this explosion is conveyed brilliantly in the anime, with Muzan’s damaged body showing that there is a way to harm a villain many people thought impossible to defeat. Hopefully, the demon slayers will be able to channel the same awe-inspiring power that left him such a battered mess during the Infinity Castle arc.
2Tanjiro’s Incredible Use Of Sun Breathing Against Rui
Episode 19 Made Koyoharu Gotouge Shed Tears
There’s a reason why Episode 19 set the anime world on fire and introduced many people to a shonen anime that would go on to become one of the most beloved and successful adaptations of all time. The fight against Rui is the biggest test of Tanjiro’s skills up to that point. It forces him to dig deep and remember the Hinokami Kagura dance his father used to perform to keep himself warm even when the snow was falling.
Tanjiro uses this Sun Breathing stance to cut down Rui’s blood-augmented webs, closing the distance in an audio-visual experience that will make anime fans shed a tear at the sheer beauty on display. This moment culminates with Nezuko awakening her Blood Demon Art, saving her brother and allowing him to land what he thinks is a killing blow on the villain. It’s a shame that Rui survived this attack, butGiyu comes in the nick of timeand makes quick work of this sadistic demon.
1Tengen & Gyutaro’s Battle Is Longer
The Entertainment District arc is where people get to see where the money Ufotable received from theMugen Trainmovie went. The arc takes a while to get going, but things stay at 100% once the fight starts. Gyutaro’s introduction further complicates things, and the demon slayers split up to behead both demons at once. Inosuko and Zenitsu handle Daki, while Tanjiro and Tengen team up to fight Gyutaro.
Despite losing an arm and an eye, Tengen doesn’t let up, and shows the Upper Rank Six Demon Moon the true power of Sound Breathing. In the manga, he gets poisoned and rescues Tanjiro so that the Sun Breathing user can behead Gyutaro’s head. This happens in a flash, but Ufotable fleshed out this confrontation in a beautiful sequence that makes for one of the Entertainment District arc’s biggest highlights. Tengen’s zeal to win this battle against all odds showshow powerful this Hashira is.
