Summary
A group of dedicatedDiablo 4fans has managed to find the Ring of Misfortune, by completing the elusive “Wishing Well” event. This achievement marks the end of fan theories regarding the Lucky Coin’s usage, which has lasted almost sinceDiablo 4’s release.
Secrets are no stranger to fans of theDiablofranchise, with the famoussecret cow level inDiablospanning multiple titles. For fans ofDiablo 4, one of the greatest in-game mysteries was the usage of the rare item called the “Lucky Coin.” The item in question could only be looted by players from the corpse of an NPC that gets killed by a monster during a random world event, while the players themselves are under the effects of the Greed Shrine. Because of this, the item was a rare find and even the requirements for its drop were unknown, much less what it was used for.
In a recent Reddit post, aDiablo 4fan by the username Sowhatsthecatch posted a screenshot of one of therarest items inDiablo 4Diablo 4,the Ring of Misfortune. They credited users nova_sgx, Jimpen, Tweaked, Teire, and Raffi1337 for helping them obtain it. It was this group who finally confirmed the actual requirements for the Lucky Coin to be dropped, after which they found that when one of each class throws the Luck Coin into the Wishing Well in Scosglen, the item Ring of Misfortune and the Well-Wisher title are the rewards.
Diablo 4 Fans Find the Ring of Misfortune
This achievement marks anotherrare item found inDiablo 4, and a mystery resolved. The Ring of Misfortune gives a plus 13 to all stats, but comes with a major drawback. It’s not tradeable, and its Lucky Hit is that there is up to a 100% chance of losing all of the character’s Resource. This prompted fans to dare the OP to try masterworking the item, while others theorized that it leads to the cow level in some way.
One thing fans pointed out is the trickiness of the developers when designing the quest. There are five classes inDiablo 4, all of which are needed to toss a Lucky Coin into the Wishing Well one after the other to fulfill the requirements. While this seems straightforward in hindsight, the maximum party size inDiablo 4is four party members. Players had the last laugh, however, as it seems that the quest could be completed by one player withmultipleDiablo 4accounts.
