Now, Bethesda has announced during QuakeCon 2024 thatDoom Eternalis finally receiving mod supportwith the game’s Update 6.66 Rev 3, which is already live on Steam. By using the new service, gamers will be able to browse, download, and play officially sanctionedDoom Eternalmods. Bethesda also revealed that a Microsoft Store version of this new feature is in the works, and will be out “soon.” Unfortunately, there is no mention of this new feature being available on consoles in the future, which could mean that it will be strictly for PC players.
Doom Eternal Finally Has Official Mod Support on Steam
To gain access toDoom Eternal’s mod preview, Steam gamers should opt in to the service, which they can do by right-clicking onDoom Eternalin their Steam Library, picking properties, then “Betas,” and “pc-mod-preview.” Mods will be published using a service called idStudio Beta, which can also be accessed via Steam. Other mods which are not uploaded to the service will not be available in thepopular FPS game, though. One relevant detail about idStudio Beta is that the service is confirmed for Steam, but there’s no mention that this feature will be available on the Microsoft Store in the future.
