Summary
A gamer has recently recreated all theDragon Age: The Veilguardteam members usingBaldur’s Gate 3’s character creator system, achieving impressive results. There’s probably a fairly big overlap betweenDragon AgeandBaldur’s Gateplayers, considering BioWare started both RPG franchises, so it’s not surprising to see this happening soon afterDragon Age: The Veilguard’s characters were officially revealed.
Dragon Age: The Veilguardrecently revealed its first trailerduring the Xbox Games Showcase. While some people had mixed opinions about the game’s art style, the newDragon Ageis still eagerly awaited by many BioWare fans, and some people have already started hyping the new companions.
Now, a gamer called CobaltP has shared eightBaldur’s Gate 3characters they have created based onDragon Age: The Veilguard’s team on r/dragonage. This creation covers essentiallyall sevenDragon Age: The Veilguardcompanions, plus Varric, and they mostly look very good. While some characters such as Emmrich and Taash are not exactly as similar as their original inspiration due toBG3’s difficulty in representing older characters or the lack of Qunaris, most of them are pretty accurate, such as the elves Bellara and Davrin. The post was very well-received by the community, obtaining over 3,000 upvotes.
Dragon Age: Veilguard Team Members As BG3 Characters
It’s not surprising to see these characters being recreated byBaldur’s Gate 3fans. Even former BioWare devs such asDavid Gaider praisedBaldur’s Gate 3, considering the game a worthy successor to the old-schoolBGtitles. Both games are also very focused on a charismatic team of characters, andBG3has a pretty extensive character-building system, which makes it possible to emulate several types of characters.
At the moment, not much is known about theVeilguardcompanions apart from their names, professions, and affiliations, so fans are still speculating a lot about the story and how these characters will interact with each other. It was already revealed that the Inquisitor fromDragon Age: Inquisitionwill be featured in the game, but BioWare recently confirmed thatDragon Age 2’s Hawke will not return inThe Veilguard. Hawke previously appeared in one mission duringDragon Age: Inquisition, so it’s possible that some fans would be expecting them to come back.
Dragon Age: The Veilguardis set to be released sometime during the Fall, and fans will likely get more information about companions soon. While they wait, at least they can recreate the upcoming game’s team in titles such asBaldur’s Gate 3.
