Dragon Age: The Veilguardis set for release on October 31, with its PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S releases planned for simultaneous launch. The fourth main installment in theDragon Ageseries will take players to the Tevinter Imperium, and it picks up where the story ofInquisitionleft off, with Solas still a potential threat to the peace of not just Ferelden and Orlais, but the entire world.
A new report from theofficialDragon Age: The Veilguardwebsitestates that roughly 40 percent of playtesting has been completed using PCs, amounting to more than 200,000 hours of testing compatibility and performance on PC. Visually, the game will support a wide variety of resolutions, including those compatible with 21:9 ultra-widescreen monitors, and that resolution will be available for cinematics in addition to actual gameplay. WhileDragon Age: The Veilguard’s system requirementsallow for play on older PCs, high-end PC users will get to enjoy the power of their machines, as the game will allow for an uncapped framerate and sliders to adjust the field of vision. The graphic settings will also allow for Ray Tracing, including an Ultra RT mode for particularly powerful PCs.

In addition to graphical settings, the testing team has put heavy focus on controllers, ensuring native support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox controllers as well as keyboard and mouse controls. Those playing with an Xbox controller on PC will also be able to shift seamlessly between that controller and the keyboard and mouse controls, and players will even be able to set up and shift between different sets of keybinds based on which class of character they’re controlling at the time, providing plenty of ease-of-use. Additionally, the game has beenverified for Steam Deck, for players who want a mobileDragon Ageexperience, and players will be able to switch between PC and Steam Deck without losing any in-game progress.
