Not many people usually pit Vegeta against Gohan in theoretical fights, and the two haven’t fought in ages since the Saiyan Saga inDragon Ball. There are reasons to see them fight again, and even more than that, they have both reached their latest transformations with differing results but achieving great heights all the same. The Beast form that Gohan achieved is a representation of his strength and growth throughout the years, and there is merit to that idea. Vegeta’s Ultra Ego not only has a very different mechanic and boost of its own, but, as a mindset, is true to Vegeta’s instincts that have remained present since his introduction inDragon Ball.
These two have defeated their own opponents and have gained their own feats in these transformations, which brings up a few interesting theories. While they did not spar in the recent chapters of the manga, if Vegeta and Gohan were to fight each other in their respective forms, who would win, and why?

It isn’t unfair to say that Gohan has gone through several rage boosts that dictated his character growth, even if the trend peaked in the Cell Saga with the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. However, one thing that makes Beast distinct from the other transformations is that despite being triggered with a rage boost, Gohan remained calm, confident, but it also was clear he had another exponential increase in every physical attribute.
Another important fact is that Gohan Beast as a transformation requires some focus to transform into, and even with its advantages, it doesn’t have any special gimmicks or passive abilities. None of this is to say it is a bad thing, but simply an understanding that theBeast form is another transformationthat multiplies Gohan’s power by an abnormal amount.
Even so, there are possible advantages to having such a strong form for Gohan. This is by far the most controlled, but also the strongest form any of the Saiyans have exhibited together, so it stands to reason thatGohan has achieved a different level of strength comparable to Goku’s True Ultra Instinct. However, how does it measure up to Vegeta’s Ultra Ego transformation? Well, there are a myriad of factors that need to be explored first.
Gods of Destruction, Vegeta
Vegeta’s Ultra Ego is an interesting case, because it’s another transformation brought about by a different change in mindset andembracing the role of a destroyer.While it is necessary for wielders of Ultra Ego to go through God of Destruction training and to have God Ki, this doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. Vegeta learns to use the transformation because of a rather specific understanding of his own destructive instincts, and it shows during his fight with the Cerealian, Granolah.

The transformation required Vegeta to be fully immersed in nothing but battle, defeating his opponent, and destroying whatever needed to win. When Vegeta achieved the transformation, not only did he become true to himself, buthe also gainedpower comparable to that of a God of Destruction, which gives him even more passive abilities that are comparably dangerous.
Ultimately, Ultra Ego is a powerful transformation as well when considered from Vegeta’s perspective, but why would it have a better chance against Beast?
Why Ultra Ego’s Chances Are Better
The Advantages
The thing between these two transformations is that Beast is meant to be an overwhelming burst of power from Gohan, which fits the nature of his transformations and personality. However, Vegeta’s Ultra Ego is not just an extension of his true battle-loving self, but a transformation that actively rewards him for fighting in long-term bursts, getting into the fight with more excitement, and especially when he takes damage. Vegeta takes it all in stride, which particularly means that his abilities have the potential to improve and grow catastrophically powerful.
At leastwhen compared to True Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego seems to have a lot of advantages. It is possible to go toe-to-toe with Beast when given enough time. While we don’t have a definitive answer fromDragon Ballyet, thereis certainly evidence to suggest that Ultra Ego has a better chance of defeating Beastif Vegeta and Gohan come to blows.
