Dungeonborneis a complex game, withmany hidden rules that beginner players need to learnthrough trial and error. But, when players overcome their first runs and start to get the gist of it, it can become quite a fun game. The thing is, they have barely seen the tip of the iceberg, and the merciless endgame is hiding just around the corner.
This list of things to do before reachingDungeonborne’s endgameis a top priority for every player that wants to have a smoother and safer experience climbing the ladder to the high-difficulty levels. From gaining the best equipment to unlocking powerful enchantments, here’s the most important things players need to do to prepare for the fight against the dungeon bosses — andother players thirsting for blood.
5Get One Of Each Heirloom Item Types To Max Level
Will Contribute To Recovery After Failed Runs
In Dungeonborne, players can only have 3 Heirloom items equipped at the same time, namely: 1 Accessory, 1 Weapon, and 1 Armor piece. In the later levels, it is painful to renew equipment every time players fail to extract, so having all Heirlooms they can use at max level will ease the burden of having to restock on equipment. All Heirloom items can be crafted using one Mithril Token — purchased from the Merchant for 1000 Gold each — which means that no matter how high level the equipment is, players can craft the 3 items they need for 3000 Gold.
The only complicated thing isgetting all the materials neededfor these Heirlooms to reach max level. Players will need thousands of Ilmenite Ores (green), Refined Steel Ores (blue), and Star Fragments (purple) to unlock the max level of each Heirloom they will use, and for that, they need to extract items and disassemble them at the Blacksmith. Another option is to purchase these resources from the Merchant; the green ones are sold for 180 Gold each, the blue ones are sold for 800, and the purple ones are sold for 2700 each. But, it would be safer (and cheaper) to grind lots in the low-level Closeau Castle instead.
4Unlocking All The Enchantments
Picking The Best Boons Is A Must
Speaking of Heirloom Items, all of them can be personalized with Enchantments, which are unlocked and shared globally for all characters. So, players only need to unlock each Enchantment once. Tier 1 Enchantment costs vary between 75 and 150 Ilmenite Ores (green), while Tier 2 and 3 Enchantments cost between 75 and 150 Refined Steel Ores (blue).
Players will have to grind for hours to be able to unlock all enchantments, so it would be better to learnwhich enchantments are the best inDungeonbornebeforehand. Additionally, if they unlock the Legendary Heirloom Items, which come at max level, players can also start unlocking Set Bonus enchantments and high Tier enchantments from the get-go, so the next step is obviously getting those precious items.
3Getting The Three Legendary Heirloom Items
These Three Items Are A Gamechanger
Each of the three Legedary Heirlooms can be acquired by doing certain steps. Theeasiest to unlock is the Legendary Moon Pendant, which only requires players to pay attention to the moon in their loading screen and visit the Training Dungeon when it’s full. Now, getting the other two will be complicated, since players need to compete against other players not only to reach those fragments but also to safely extract them in the Battle Royale Sinner’s End map.
In the case of the Divine Crown fragment, players can get it from the altar in the northern central part of Sinner’s End, but watch out for other players camping at the spot for easy loot. Meanwhile, the Divine Sword fragment can be obtained from another altar in the bottom southern part of the map. This can be tricky to get since it is on the edge and often stays blocked by the first death fog, and reaching the location on time is a matter of luck. And then, of course, players need to extract safely to take the fragment home.
2Getting One Class To Level 20
A Slow And Grindy Task, But A Necessity For All Players
Getting a class to level 20 is probably the easiest thing players should accomplish before trying the higher difficulty maps and Competitive Mode. Having a character at max level will mean that all its base stats are boosted to the max, including its HP pool, and that also means that it will be easier to activate all its passive skills. But worry not — there’s a safe (almost) and solid way to level up their character without too much trouble, and that is: drinking ascension potions in each run.
The effect of these beverages doesn’t dissipate unless they safely escape, granting players 1500 exp points immediately. This also means that if players die (either doing PvE or killed by another player), the effect will persist even in death, allowing them to get back on their feet and earn their extra exp on the next extraction. And, if that doesn’t work: try-try again. It’s a win-win situation since players will not only acquire the exp they need, but they’ll also get useful skills they need to survive in the higher tier levels and corrupted portals.
Players can get even more Ascension Potions from completing weekly and seasonal quests or from the Merchant.
1Stocking Up On Healing Items, Dice, And Tokens
Being Prepared Always Pays Off
This might sound obvious, but many players fail to realize the importance of consumables and the utility of special items like Mithril Dice and tokens. The list already covered the importance of having many Mithril Tokens that can be purchased for gold from the Merchant, but Mithril Dice are also important to secure at least one piece of equipment per run. The Merchant often offers specific rotating dice, like “Helmet Mithril Dice” or “Pendant Mithril Dice.” It costs 10000 gold, but at least players can secure a specific piece of equipment with it.
It is also important to stock up on Flasks, Potions, Bandages, Arrows, and even Mimic Potions (which help escape a tricky situation in a pinch — or ambush a player by assuming the form of a chest. And we have to give it to them; the Mimic Potion is one of the funniest things aboutDungeonborne, adding a chaotic element to PvP that is hard to find in similar games. But, going back to stocking up on items — reagents must be looted all the time, so players can craft Potions, Flasks, and Bandages. Many players commit the mistake of forsaking these useful items for considering them “useless,” but in the endgame stages, they’ll regret not grinding enough of these, even more so if they are running solo.
