Originally announced back in September 2022, EA Motive’sIron Mangame remains a complete mystery. While EA reassured fans back in April that Motive’sIron Mangame was still an “important priority” for the publisher, that announcement didn’t come with any information about the game itself, meaning that fans still don’t officially know anything about the upcoming title’s story or gameplay.
Though it’s disappointing that fans haven’t receiveda trailer for Iron Manyet, the mystery surrounding the game does leave the door wide open to fan speculation. With no story, characters, or gameplay mechanics currently confirmed, anything could be on the table for EA Motive’s Iron Man. That includes a companion character who could give Motive’s Iron Man its ownSpider-Man: Miles Morales-like arc.

Ironheart’s Comic Origins Explained
Created by modern Marvel comic legends Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato, Riri Williams first appeared inInvincible Iron Man Vol.3 #7, which hit shelves in 2016. A 15-year-old super-genius,Riri Williams' originssee her attending MIT early. Here, she scavenged parts for her very own Iron Man armor and used it to stop a few inmates from escaping the New Mexico Penitentiary. Tony Stark eventually gets wind of Riri’s exploits and decides to take her under his wing. From that point on, Riri Williams adopts the Ironheart moniker and continues fighting crime in her modified versions of Stark’s highly advanced suits.
Riri Williams made her MCU debut inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, and she’s set to get her own Disney+ show in 2025.
How Ironheart Could Fit Into EA Motive’s Iron Man
While Ironheart hasn’t been confirmed to appear in EA Motive’s Iron Man, there are plenty of ways in which the character could be incorporated into its narrative. The most obvious way is to take a page out ofMarvel’s Spider-Man’s playbook, and introduce the companion as a background character, just as Insomniac did with Miles Morales. For instance, one mission ofEA Motive’s Iron Man gamecould see Tony Stark meeting a group of MIT students, and Riri Williams could be among the crowd. Riri could then pop up again later in the story, with players needing to apprehend an unknown figure in an Iron Man-like suit, thus kickstarting the hero’s origin.
Ironheart in EA Motive’s Iron Man Could Pave The Way for a Bigger Appearance in The Future
If EA Motive’s Iron Man game can give its own version of Riri Williams a brief origin story, then that paves the way for more appearances from the character in future entries. EA Motive could take its hypotheticalSpider-Man: Miles Moralesinspirationsone step further and produce a smaller-scale spinoff centered around Ironheart and her early days as a crime-fighter. This spinoff would allow fans to get a better feel for who Ironheart is as both a character and a superhero, and how she differs from EA Motive’s version of Tony Stark.
Once Ironheart has had her chance in the spotlight, EA Motive could then bring Tony Stark back into the fold, combining the two heroes into one journey for a potential sequel, just likeMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. With two playable superheroes sharing the screen, a hypotheticalIron Man sequelcould also afford to go even bigger with its villains and its narrative stakes.
