Summary
EA Sports UFC 5has announced that its latest update will add four new fighters to the game’s constantly expanding roster. Alongside the addition of new fighters,UFC 5players will also find a plethora of new alter egos coming to the popular mixed martial arts game throughout August.
When EA first launchedUFC 5back in 2023, one of the community’s biggest complaints with the highly anticipated sequel was the lack of ranked fighters. EA Vancouver had gone through the effort to add the likes ofMuhammad Ali and Mike Tyson toUFC 5, but excluded legitimate UFC fighters who were ranked in their respective divisions. Thankfully, EA heard players' complaints and has continued to add plenty of new fighters to the game’s roster through a steady stream of patch updates.
PreviousUFC 5updateshave added up-and-coming stars such as Ian Garry and Mike Malott, and the next update looks to be no different. In a newblog post by EA, the studio revealed that an upcoming update forUFC 5will add four new fighters, make a handful of gameplay updates, and also see the arrival of some new alter egos. The four new fighters being added in patch 1.12 are 25-year-old Payton Talbott, rising light heavyweight star Vitor Petrino, number eleven-ranked women’s flyweight Karine Silva, and bantamweight Ricky Simon. EA has also released the first image of a new alter ego for Paddy Pimblett, who is fresh off of a win over lightweight fighter Bobby Green.
EA UFC 5’s Four New Fighters
Unfortunately, EA has not released the stats for these newadditions, but given that most of them are currently unranked, so fans shouldn’t expect them to become some of thebest fighters inUFC 5. But, with that being said, some of the biggest names in UFC history are set to receive new alter egos throughout August, including Rashad Evans, Leon Edwards, Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, and more. The first alter ego to be released will be the UFC 304 version of Paddy Pimblett, featuring the lightweight’s custom orange shorts.
While there aren’t any balance adjustments in the new update,UFC 5fans who class themselves as a prowill be pleased to know that an important ranked glitch has now been fixed. Following the release of update 1.12, players will no longer be able to view their opponent’s selected fighter before the start of an online ranked match.
Alter Egos

Paddy Pimblett (UFC 304) (LW) - A callback to one of Paddy’s favorite PRIDE FC fighters. The King in the North is coming off a fresh UFC 304 win with some fresh and fun custom shorts.

Forrest Griffin (TUF 1) (2005) (LHW) - One of the very first TUF champions, Forrest’s TUF 1 Finale fight thrust the UFC into the mainstream.
Diego Sanchez (TUF 1) (2005) (WW) - The very first TUF champion. Diego “The Nightmare” Sanchez would go on to have many epic clashes inside the Octagon but this is where it all started.
Rashad Evans (TUF 2) (2005) (HW) - “Suga” Rashad Evans was a natural light heavyweight who took on some truly giant heavyweights in the second season of The Ultimate Fighter and came out as the winner in the TUF 2 Finale. Rashad proves that size does not matter if you’ve got heart and the will to win.
Leon Edwards (2024) (UFC 304) (WW) - Leon rocked these custom fight shorts at UFC 304. Emblazoned with the Jamaican and Union Jack Flags, these shorts pay tribute to his place of birth and adopted home.

The shorts are a callback to his indigenous roots that represent the Pataxó culture and people. This Alter Ego of Alex will have his in-game stats updated to reflect his win at UFC 303 and will now sport the gold gloves befitting a champion.

Ian Garry (2024) (UFC 303) (WW) - At UFC 303, Ian Machado Garry debuted his custom purple fight shorts and took home a W that night.
