InElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, upgrades for your character take the form of Scadutree Blessings and Revered Spirit Ash Blessings. Revered Spirit Ash Blessings will empower your summons and Torrent, but Scadutree Blessings will increase your character’s own attack and defense stats by 5% for every rank.
Toget stronger for the challenges of the DLC, you will need to acquire Scadutree Fragments and slowly empower your character. These buffs only last while in the Realm of Shadow, and don’t transfer back to the base game areas. But by finding early Scadutree Fragment locations,Shadow of the Erdtreeplayers can quickly get a big boost – and thankfully, there are actually quite a lot of early Scadutree Fragments in the Gravesite Plain, the first area of the DLC.
Pick Up Two Scadutree Fragments In The Church of Consolation
After exiting the ravine entrance to the Lands of Shadow, and after picking up the Gravesite Plain site of grace nearby,mount up on Torrent and ride south along the road. It will eventually turn southeast, then sharply turn toward a church with a number of Messmer Soldiers outside. This is theChurch of Consolation, an apt name for a church that housesnot just one, but twoElden Ring DLCearly Scadutree Fragments.
There is a Black Knight standing guard by the headless statue that sits above the Scadutree Fragments on the ground. These can be difficult to take on early in the DLC, but because you can ride Torrent here, it’s easy to ride in, pick up the early Scadutree Fragments here, then ride out.
At The Foot Of Each Of The Miquella’s Crosses
The main thing that draws the Tarnished to the Lands Between, and indeed all of Miquella’s followers, is to find out where Miquella is, and to follow in his footsteps in the Realm of Shadow. Miquella abandoned everything to achieve his goals – and this is meant very literally, as when you interact with Miquella’s Crosses in this land, you are told what Miquella left behind at that location.
Conveniently,at the foot of every one of Miquella’s Crosses in the Realm of Shadow is a Scadutree Fragment.you may find these naturally by exploringmajor areas in theElden Ring DLC, but you can also talk to the Hornsent at the Three-Path Cross site of grace, in the east of the Gravesite Plain main area, to get map of crosses in Gravesite Plain.
A new enemy inShadow of the Erdtreedrops Scadutree Fragments every time you defeat them. Shadow Undead can be found everywhere in the Gravesite Plain, but one particular type of Shadow Undead is a bit shyer. TheseShadow Undead carry pots that shine like the various HP, FP, and secret item Scarabsin the base game. Indeed, their pots hold Scadutree Fragments, but they aren’t exactly eager to die.
If you see aShadow Undead (Pot)anywhere in the Gravesite Plain, you mustquickly kill it before it gets a chance to disappear. Like the Scarabs, these Shadow Undead will simply vanish after a few seconds if you do not kill them.
Each one of these drops a single Scadutree Fragment, and they can be found in various places across the Gravesite Plain.
Two particularly easy-to-find ones are in the initial areas ofthe Belurat, Tower Settlement legacy dungeon, and to the east of the Scorched Ruins, where one blends into a larger group of Shadow Undead in a graveyard.
Castle Ensis Houses Two Scadutree Fragments
Two more relatively easy Scadutree FragmentsElden Ringplayers can collect are foundin, and just outside, Castle Ensis. Another Legacy Dungeon in the Gravesite Plain, Castle Ensis lies to the east of the Three-Path Cross site of grace, and players can findone Scadutree Fragment on the ground near its entrance beneath a Statue of Marika.
Another lies inside after navigating through the Castle a little ways,near the Castle Ensis Checkpoint site of grace beneath one of Miquella’s crosses. By reaching all of these early Scadutree Fragment locations, you’ll be able to significantly power up your character and will be ready to properly take on thedifficult challenges of this DLC.
