Soulsborne games are known for their incredibly difficult and challenging boss fights, andElden Ringis no exception. However, players have much more freedom to move around in FromSoft’s open-world title. If a boss seems too challenging, just go for a stroll into another region and come back when you are stronger. Another option is to use the almost countless number of buffs available inElden Ringto trivialize the boss fights. But not everyone likes to go through a whole buffing ritual to fight a boss.

Luckily, there are some simple buffs you may use, such as incantations likeGolden VowandFlame, Grant me Strengthor consumables like Boiled Crab and Boiled Prawn. Out of all consumables, Boiled Crab and Boiled Prawn are two of the best and can be bought as many times as you want fromBlackguard Big Boggart. While Boggart will sell Boiled Prawns right away, you will have to progress his questline to unlock Boiled Crab in his store.

How to Buy Boiled Crab from Boggart in Elden Ring

Boiled Crab is one of the few items Blackguard Big Boggart sells inElden Ring. To unlock this item, you will first have to talk toRya, located in a rotunda north of Laskyar Ruins, south of Liurnia. She will tell you about a thief who stole her necklace and ask you to help her get it back. Go northwest from Rya’s location to reach Boilprawn Shack, where you will meet Blackguard Big Boggart.

Purchase Rya’s necklace from Boggart for 1,000 runes. Avoid fighting him, as it will lock you out of his questline. After purchasing Rya’s necklace, buy Boiled Prawns from him to trigger a dialogue in which he mentions he has never met an untrustworthy person who likes prawns, and he befriends you.

How to Avoid Locking Boggart’s Questline

Like most other NPCs, Boggart’s questline depends on how far you have progressed in the game. If you want to unlock the Boiled Crab trade from Boggart, you should avoid going to Volcano Manor until his questline progresses to the Leyndell Outskirts. ReachingVolcano Manorwithout befriending Boggart in Liurnia will lock you out of his questline. To avoid this, ensure you have talked to Rya in Liurnia and purchased her necklace from Boggart. It doesn’t matter if you choose to return the necklace or not.
