Summary
AnElden Ringplayer recently found themselves invading a player during their final confrontation against the Elden Beast, spawning into the massive boss arena. Invading during boss fights inElden Ringis uncommon, but not unheard of, as demonstrated by this player here.
Invasions have been a staple of the Soulsborne games ever since their inception. The theme ofinvasions being popular carried over intoElden Ring, and with the DLC bringing many players both new and older, these invasions have increased. InElden Ring, invasions can only occur if you either invite them in or have a cooperative partner playing alongside them, meaning in most cases the defending player has a good idea of what to expect. There are also typically limits on invading players who are fighting bosses that require traversal through a fog wall, meaning that the invader, typically, also has a rough idea of what to expect when going into an invasion. For this Reddit user, however, that was far from the case.
As documented by Evrox3, when trying to go for what they thought was a random invasion, they found themselves staring down the host with help from the game’s final boss, the Elden Beast. The Elden Beast is the second phase of thefinal boss fight against Radagon which concludes theElden Ringstory. According to Evrox3, they took it upon themselves to show honor and withheld the attack as the host battled against the Elden Beast, remaining in the world until the boss was eventually slain, and they were sent back to their world with barely a moment to congratulate their would-be target.
Elden Ring Invader Accidentally Invades a Player Fighting the Elden Beast
Rewards are granted as part of successfully defeating the host when invading, so to hold back the attack for the sake of the host is surely commendable. Myriad new players have come toElden Ringthanks to the new DLC, and the user in question was playing from the DLC, as can be seen from theKnight’s Lightning Spear incantation they have equipped. Whilst some invasion victims may be those trying to have massive battles with invaders, there are equally many that are just trying to play with their friends. To have the final boss of the whole game disrupted would be sure to leave a sour taste in the mouth of a new player. As to what caused this, it is a known issue to occasionally happen during the boss fights against Radahn and Radagon, potentially because these bosses don’t have a normal fog wall cutting them off from the rest of the world.
As the more hardcore side of the player base gears up and prepares to take the Lands Between by storm, it’s important to notice and care for the new players that will be arriving with the hype ofShadow of the Erdtree, or even those who have not played the game since its initial launch.Elden Ringhas seen a massive resurgence of attentionthanks to the highly successfulShadow of the Erdtreeexpansion, with a huge spike in sales coinciding with the DLC’s launch, and even though there is no promise of further content forElden Ring, it is certain to keep fans entertained for a long time.
