Summary
Elden Ringfans are calling for the addition of boss gauntlets before developer FromSoftware moves on from the 2022 RPG entirely. The boss fights are a big part of why players return toElden Ring, and this feature would make them more accessible than ever.
DespiteElden Ringbeing considered one of the best RPGs ever made, the community has never been shy about its requests for the game, frequently coming up with suggestions for things they believe would improve the experience. Just recently, in the wake ofShadow of the Erdtree’s release,Elden Ringfans asked for a big change to Ranni’s questlinein the game. While it isn’t clear how many fan suggestions FromSoftware actually takes on board as feedback for future updates, the hope for many players is that the studio adds their ideas before it leavesElden Ringbehind for future projects.
In a thread started by Redditor G_CGuy,Elden Ringplayers shared their hopes for boss gauntlets, inspired by theGauntlet of Strength fromSekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This would allow players to replay bosses at any point, or even pit them against several enemies back to back. This would be an excellent way for players to test out builds against certain bosses without having to do a full playthrough of the game all over again. G_CGuy even created an awesome mockup of how the feature could look, which fits perfectly. Many were surprised that the feature doesn’t already exist, considering FromSoftware has already implemented the idea inSekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Elden Ring Fans Call For Boss Gauntlets
While most in the thread agreed that boss gauntlets would be a good addition toElden Ring, there were a few points of contention. Some felt that rewards for each boss would need to be toned down on subsequent fights, while others were split over whether the feature should be available at the end of the game or after beating each boss. There was also concern that the ability to replayElden Ring’s bosseswould reduce the number of players responding to summon signs, making it harder for gamers to get help with bosses they’re stuck on. While there are definitely some things to consider, this would still be a worthy addition toElden Ringoverall.
With thesuccess ofElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, it will be interesting to see what developer FromSoftware does next. The studio is keeping quiet about its plans at the moment, and it isn’t clear whether it plans to create even more DLC for the 2022 RPG, move on to a fully-fledged sequel, or something else entirely.
