When Season 1 ofThe First Descendantwas announced, it initially sparked controversy due to its content being heavily timegated. Specifically, updates for the first season were originally split up into three content drops, with Freyna’s highly anticipated Ultimate variant not arriving until October 30. However, after facing some severe backlash about the season’s structure,Nexon removed one of the timegatesby merging the second and third updates. Now, players will see one update dropping on August 29 when the season begins and another update arriving on October 10, seven weeks into Season 1.

Everything Included in The First Descendant Season 1: Invasion Week One Update
Season 1 ofThe First Descendantbegins on August 29, and while the first update won’t containFreyna’s Ultimate variant, it does kick the season off in style with several major additions, including new Invasion Dungeons and a brand-new Descendant.
The first week of Season 1 ofThe First Descendantwill introduce new Invasion Dungeons, which are essentially remixed standard dungeons that occur when an Invasion event takes place in two of the “Hard Infiltration Operation” dungeons. These dungeons see players thwarting an invasion as quickly as possible, and they must be completed solo. Anew Descendant, Hailey Scott, will also be joining the Descendant Corps on August 29, equipped with a powerful anti-materiel Sniper Cannon and several Chill-based skills.
Season 1’s first week will also see the addition of a newFirst DescendantBattle Pass, as well as Inversion Reinforcement, which is a new season-long progression system forThe First Descendant. With Inversion Reinforcement, players can unlock various effects that will eventually result in a passive Collection Effect that will remain active throughout the season.

Seven weeks intoSeason 1 ofThe First Descendant, the game will receive a massive update, as it combines what once was two separate updates into one. On October 10, players will get nearly double the amount of content included in the August 29 update, including two new Ultimate Weapons, the Ultimate variant for Freyna, and a new Void Intercept Battle.
The most anticipated addition in the second content drop for Season 1 ofThe First Descendantis the Ultimate variant for Freyna. Along with the option to play as Ultimate Freyna, players will experience the Descendant’s exclusive story, which will divulge the meaning behind the name of her Room 0 Trauma skill. The second update will also add the Excava and Frost Watcher Ultimate Weapons, with the former being an assault rifle obtainable through the Battle Pass or as a free reward, and the latter being a scout rifle that can be farmed throughSeason 1: Invasion’s content.
