Summary
OneFallout 4player who has gathered a massive amount of power armor recently received a shocking surprise as one of the suits appeared to come to life and launch an attack.Fallout 4includes a lot of armor customization options, and this player’s self-made armor museum became terrifying following a chance encounter.
Fallout 4includes a wide variety of Power Armorparts that can be added to mechanical exoskeletons, offering a lot of customization options, and even more when mods are taken into account. Armor can also be painted in a mix of different colors and themes, which has led to some players gathering multiple suits that serve more as display pieces than actual protection from The Commonwealth’s harshest threats.
A video posted on Reddit by user Yaseen-115 shows the player entering the first level of their multi-floor armor museum, which seems to be reserved specifically forFallout 4’s T-45 Power Armor, containing at least 25 different custom-made suits. The player walks past the armor racks and heads for the staircase to the upper floors, then immediately doubles back to find that one of the suits has seemingly come to life and started attacking them with an assault rifle. Once the player places their reticle over the suit of armor, it becomes obvious that a Gunner Commander has commandeered the suit of armor though viewing the video has still left a lot ofFalloutfans feeling pretty creeped out.
Fallout 4 Play Seemingly Gets Attacked by Their Own Power Armor
As manyFallout 4players are already aware, NPCs are able to steal unoccupied suits of power armor if the player fails to remove the fusion core that powers each suit or if the NPC happens to be carrying a fusion core, as some high-ranking enemies do. One of those scenarios is likely what caused this chance meeting to happen, but it doesn’t make the encounter any less scary. Multiple commenters have compared the prospect of an inanimate suit of armor coming to life and turning hostile to the killeranimatronics inFive Nights at Freddy’sor the living exhibits in theNight at the Museummovie series, leading to jokes such as “Five Nights at the Museum.”
While this surprise attack in what appears to be an isolated, safe space could justifiably provide a jumpscare for even the most experienced players, the similarities between thisFalloutattack and moments that have occurred in fellow Bethesda series,The Elder Scrolls, make it feel a bit familiar.Mannequins inSkyrimhave been known to move around, and as they’re also meant for holding armor themselves, their glitchiness may have set an even eerie precedent for the potential of angry, sentient power armor.
