Summary

A big update toFallout: Londonhas arrived, fixing multiple issues that players have been running into in the popular total-replacement mod. While the mod, which transformsFallout 4into an entirely different game with a new setting, quests, and characters, is proving popular with franchise fans, its recent launch didn’t go without its share of problems.

After building up a significant amount of buzz over the course of several years of development,Fallout: Londonshadow-dropped on July 25, going public through GOG because its 33.9 GB file size was too massive to be supported by Nexus Mods. While developer Team FOLON provides a brand-new experience in a size comparable toFallout 4, reviews for the mod have been mixed, as it currently only enjoys a 3.3/5 rating on GOG, which may be lower than expected for such a highly anticipated release.

Much of the negativity has to do with the large number of bugs players have been running into inFallout: Londonfollowing launch, some of which have been described as game-breaking. With those complaints in mind, Team FOLON recently announced on Discord that it would be releasing amajor update toFallout: London, which fixes 50 different bugs associated with quests, as well as making adjustments to some items, NPCs, stats, and audio issues. Notably, the update fixes an issue with the train crash in the Broken Angel quest, which had previously reduced a character’s maximum hit points instead of their current hit points.

Along with the fixes topost-launch bugs inFallout: London, the update also makes several gameplay tweaks, which extend to its catalog of weapons. Molotov cocktails have been nerfed, having their radius reduced by 20 percent, while their base damage has been reduced from 50 to the new value of 30. Adding a plasma barrel to a Lewis Gun will now offer reduced range but increased damage output, differentiating it from the laser barrel attachment, and that gun along with the MG42 and Bren have been reclassified as heavy weapons. In addition, the EM2 will now fire .280 rounds.

One significant character update will fix a humorous bug withFallout: Londonrecruitable companion Churchill, the game’s English bulldog companion, which had inadvertently been transforming him into fellow canine companion Dogmeat for some players, and his footsteps won’t make him sound so heavy. Additionally, the update will provide players with a dozen new items to build in their workshops and adjusts several spelling and word choice issues to reflect the game’s usage of British English.
