The news of the Moonfire Faire’s return came days after the launch ofFinal Fantasy 14Patch 7.05. The content update introducedthe Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon, the Arcadion’s first Savage raid tier, and Job balance updates across the board. Among the major Job changes were some reworks to the Viper’s core rotation, further adjustments to the Black Mage in response to player feedback, and potency buffs for the Paladin, Machinist, and Red Mage. The Samurai saw nerfs to its core rotation but received a change to its Tsubame-gaeshi ability that will see it used more often to compensate.

Withthe 7.05 content update now available,Final Fantasy 14unveiled its plans forDawntrail’s first event that players can look forward to.According to Square Enix, the Moonfire Faire will start Thursday, August 8, at 4:00 AM Eastern and conclude Monday, August 26, at 10:59 AM Eastern.Final Fantasy 14players who want to join the festivities must accept the level 30 quest “Fire Red, Beast Green” in the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa by speaking to a Lalafell NPC named Mayaru Moyaru. The quest will then take players to Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea, where the traditional Eorzean Nimble Warrior obstacle course is likely to return for players to test their jumping skills.

Final Fantasy 14 Announces 2024 Moonfire Faire Event

Final Fantasy 14players who complete the 2024 Moonfire Faire quests will earn a new emote called “Uchiwasshoi,” which allows characters to wave a large fan with a Namazu face on it. Players can also obtain a Bouncing Bomb Balloon indoor furnishing item, which can be placed on a table inside any size of house or apartment in the game. Both items will be available for the duration of the Moonfire Faire before becoming unobtainable until next year. Past Moonfire Faire items, such asthe Phoenix Riser attire, will go on sale at theFinal Fantasy 14Online Store once the event begins.

Anyone looking to collect past Moonfire Faire items at a discount will have another opportunity to do so. Between the return of the Moonfire Faire, andscheduled appearances at Gamescomand PAX West,Final Fantasy 14players will have plenty to look forward to throughout August.
