Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail’s release is already shaking up the endgame meta in the well-loved MMO. As players prepare for the savage raids, they are amassing the best gear currently available and gathering their statics. However, figuring out what gear is worth farming can be tricky in a game that isn’t transparent with how different stats scale.
To that end, many Healing mains are looking up what their Best In Slot gear is before they take to Party Finder. While all healers can expect a combination of theTomestone of Aestheticsgear, Light-heavy gear, and Extreme gear to make up the BiS, each job has slightly different priorities. Keep reading to learn what the BiS set is for White Mage, Scholar, Astrologian, and Sage.
Best In Slot Gear For White Mage
White Mages are generally the easiest to gear for, as their BiS is not determined by a specific Spell Speed threshold. As a result, players who frequently play other healers may want to build their gear set around the other job’s requirements. However, if White Mage is the player’s choice for an optimized healer gearset, the stats players will want to prioritize are Mind and Critical Hit Rate.

Vegetable Soup is also a good meal for White Mage players to use, with its main difference being Determination instead of Spell Speed. This is up to personal preference, depending on whether players want to increase their Spell Speed by one Tier or their Determination by one tier.
Pre-Raid BiS
Because the White Mage uses so much of the Light-heavy gearset fromthe Normal Arcadion Raids, players will need to grind the raid many times over several weeks before being able to purchase all of these pieces. Until they are finished farming the necessary gear, either theExtreme Trial gearor the Tomestone Gear is a solid substitute.
If players are Alarmclocking (running the Savage Raid on release) they will not have time to grind all of these gear pieces and should eliminate the body piece and ring, substituting it for Tomestone gear instead.
Best In Slot Gear For Astrologian
Astrologian is a Job that has many low cooldown abilities to manage, and as a result, these players tend to want a bit more Spell Speed than their White Mage counterparts, but not much. Instead, the stats to prioritize will be Mind and Determination, with a heavy emphasis on Savage Aim Materia for melding.

For optimal stat progression, players should purchase the Light-heavy gear in the following order: Legs → Feet → Ring. If players are planning to run the Savage raid on release, waiting to buy the ring until after the Crafted Gear is released is suggested.
Best In Slot Gear For Scholar
The Scholar’s BiS gear closely mirrors that of the Astrologian, with only minor Materia changes. The introduction of Seraphism has changed how players should manage their GCDs significantly. The most important thing to keep in mind with Scholar’s Spell Speed is that players should now aim for a 2.40 value.
For optimal Stat progression, purchase the Light-heavy gear in the following order: Legs → Feet → Ring.
Best In Slot Gear For Sage
Sage is a very damage focused healer, something that will come as no surprise to veteran players. This means that they will focus even more heavily than other healers on stats like Determination and Direct Hit. As a result of its different priorities, the BiS Sage gear features the body piece fromthe Artifact Gearset.

For Optimal Stat Progression, buy the Light-heavy Feet first, then the accessories.
Light-Heavy Accessories
Unless players are Alarmclocking, it may not be worth it to buy the Light-heavy Ring of Healing for Sage. Instead, use this time to farm raid gear for another class and purchase a crafted ring with Patch 7.05 instead.
