Final Fantasy 14is well-known for itspunishingly difficult raid encounters, featuring both a normal difficulty for players looking to enjoy the story, as well as a Savage difficulty for players wanting to test their skills against revamped bosses with new mechanics for a chance at best-in-slot gear. In recent expansions, however,Final Fantasy 14has introduced an even higher difficulty of raids called Ultimate raids, revisiting old bosses and introducing new, devastatingly punishing attack patterns in excruciating boss rush-style encounters, often lasting over 15 minutes in length. At the time of writing, there are five Ultimate raids in the game, with a sixth raid, Future’s Rewritten (Ultimate), announced for release in patch 7.11.
While Ultimate raids are among the most difficult content players can tackle inFinal Fantasy 14, players that are able to complete them will be rewarded with an exclusive achievement, title, and customizations for theircharacter portraits and adventurer plates. Most importantly, these raids will also drop a totem that can be exchanged for unique weapons with impressive visual effects themed after the encounter, allowing players to show off their accomplishment in style.
