Asrumors of aFinal Fantasy 9remakecontinued to make the rounds on social media, aFinal Fantasyfan released a new cover originally from the PS1 classic. A content creator called Harpsibored posted a harp cover of “Crossing Those Hills” fromFinal Fantasy 9on her YouTube channel. In the game, “Crossing Those Hills” is heard throughout the world map, with one of the first instances happening after Zidane and the party escape from the Evil Forest. Harpsibored’s video started with her playing the opening notes of “Crossing Those Hills” on her harp. A few seconds in, a reversed camera angle was edited in, as it played the main track while the first one continued playing the backing track. Over a minute into the cover, Harpsibored showed a third harp track that played the bass section ofFinal Fantasy 9’s world theme.

Each part of the track was edited together to create the full melody of “Crossing Those Hills,” and the cover lasted for around three and a half minutes. In the YouTube video’s comments, severalFinal Fantasyfans complimented Harpsibored for her work.
