Funko Celebrates Voltron’s 40th Anniversary With Jumbo Chan Figure
The cult-classic IP is now set to be added toFunko’s Jumbo Chan lineupof collectibles inspired by retro Japanese toys. This collection will soon be expanded with the addition of a 12-inchVoltronfigure, which Game Rant can exclusively reveal. Much like other Jumbo Chan collectibles, the newVoltronfigurine is made of hard vinyl and comes in a retro collector’s box adorned by eye-catching retro art meant to evoke a sense of nostalgia. Its reveal arrives mere weeks ahead of the 40th anniversary of theVoltronfranchise, which falls on September 10.
Voltron Jumbo Chan Figure Raffle Starting This Week
Funko is planning to produce only 1,200 units of its newly revealed Jumbo Chan figure. In light of that limited quantity, prospective buyers will only be able to secure a pre-order by winning a raffle, which is exactly how Funko handled the pre-orders for its previously released Jumbo Chan products. TheVoltronfigure raffle will be available onFunko’s websitestarting at 9am PT on Thursday, August 22. The sign-ups will close at 11:59pm PT on Sunday, August 25. Collectors who are lucky enough to win the upcoming lottery will be given a chance to pre-order the newly unveiled figurine for $250. EveryVoltronfigure will come with an authenticity certificate, as is customary for such limited-edition offerings.
The product itself marks the fourth addition to the Jumbo Chan line introduced to date. The lineup started with a 14-inchFreddy Funkofigurine that Funko raffled off in May 2024. The company followed up on that release a month later, when it launchedGatchamanandSpeed RacerJumbo Chan collectibles. At this rate, it’s plausible that even more products of this sort will be announced before the end of the year.
Aside from this upcoming addition to the Jumbo Chan line,Voltroncharacters will also soon be featured inFunko Fusion, a crossover game starring Funko Pops. Developed by British studio 10:10 Games,Funko Fusionis scheduled to reach the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 13, whereas its PS4 and Switch ports are planned to debut on November 15.
