TheG7 SE was reviewedby Game Rant when it was released, and the HE version of the controller is extremely similar. The main difference between the two is the missing quick latches for the programmable back buttons. This controller is one of the best on the market and has kept a stranglehold on most top wired controller lists since its release in 2023.
That being said, the GameSir G7 HE represents a new upgrade for GameSir G7. The controller is equipped with much more durable face buttons that can withstand up to 3 million clicks thanks to GameSir’s high-precision micro switches. Packed with some of the latest technology, including Hall effect sticks and triggers, E-sport micro switch face buttons, and four rumble motors, this wired controller gives gamers a chance to feel as powerful as their favorite superhero while competing online!
Originally, the controller only boasted ultra-durable joysticks and triggers. Using Hall effect sensors, these inputs are still rated to withstand up to 5 million cycles, with the joysticks being essentially immune to stick drift. Plus, the joysticks are supported by wear-resistant rings and the triggers provide reliable, smooth, and precise control. Plus, of course, the controller comes with industry-standard features, such as dual rumble packs and a 3.5mm mic port.

This faceplate is advertised as a way for players to add or commission custom art for their controller, or easily swap out joysticks and other parts using third-party accessories.
Overall, though, the in-house design of this Iron Man Edition G7 HE is absolutely stunning. The faceplate is crimson red and shows off not only the triangular arc reactor that keeps the suit powered but also Iron Man himself in a classic “superhero landing” pose. Naturally, there are also golden buttons and a gold D-pad, alongside a dark Xbox button and two dark joysticks. But that’s not the only look this controller sports.
Lifting off the faceplate reveals a whole different style, one ready for customization while offering a more rugged tech design. Rather than the standard, bland undercarriage of most controllers with a removable faceplate, the G7 HE Iron Man limited edition wired controller has an almost dark blue color to it, harkening to Marvel’s Civil War movie. There’s no shield here though, just a blown-up version of the arc reactor, right in the center, as expected.
The many screw holes are visible, but this only adds to the design, especially for fans who prefer Tony Stark when he isn’t completely protected by his suit. The gold buttons still look amazing, though the big silver logo matches with the dark background much better. Withthe right game room lighting, these metallic buttons can even shift to look more silvery to match the darker design.
Complete with an enhanced rubber coating around each handle and an excellent ergonomic design, the G7 HE Iron Man limited edition wired controller is perfect even for long gaming sessions. The contoured sides offer a slightly more tailored grip than other wired controllers, while the lightweight gamepad and cord make it feel as close to a wireless option as possible. Plus, the back buttons are intuitively placed, meaning miskeys will be far from a common occurrence. The controller is compatible with Xbox, PC, and Steam Deck, all while still being listed at a fairly affordable price.
Fans of wired controllers who have yet to pick up the G7 SE should absolutely pick up the new G7 HE. Marvel fans would be remiss to skip out on this beautifully designed controller, especially considering the advanced specs and comfortable build it offers. Between customizable switches and back buttons, compatibility with both Xbox and PC, and an eye-catching, yet comfortable design, it’s tough to find a reasonnotto get GameSir’s newest wired controller.
